This may just be another internet rumor, but I've been seeing this one flashing around a lot today. Now being carried on state news pages and the sporting news.
I'm haven't been on the Fire Stoops bandwagon, so I kinda hope tomorrow's press conference is more stadium updates, but I suppose this is a possibility.

The Oklahoma coach said in a 2012 NewsOK article he didn't want an on-campus statue of himself while he was still coaching, saying, "It would be weird." Apparently the school thought his success since then has warranted a statue.
Since the time that article ran, Stoops has compiled a 30-9 record, a co-Big 12 championship and a Sugar Bowl championship.
It's possible the statue won't be unveiled until some time in the distant future. That said, Oklahoma wasn't shy about how it felt about its football coach.
