Sad. Say what you will about UT, Bevo is one of the better college mascots. We retire our Judges to a sanctuary in California when they get older, so they are never around when they pass.

As much as I dislike the sports teams of UT, I feel sadness in the passing of their
mascot. I'm sure anyone who's lost a pet knows the feeling....

I hate Texas but I liked Bevo. One year at the Cotton Bowl, I was standing in line to get to the game, and those Bevo handlers with cowboy gear & chaps on were just ahead of me. I asked them how BEVO stayed so calm during all the commotion and pagentry, particularly if Texas scored and the cannons were shot off next to him, etc. Simple, they said--he's shot full of tranquilizers before each game.
