Same as OU.
Who's doing better in the conference on defense?

I think it will be a great game and am looking forward to it.

So, the reality is we've played better teams. Pretty sure wv would have given up as many yards or more against tulsa...guess we'll see on Sat. You want your stats on def to count but not the stats I pointed out in the off...okay.

This is what forums are all about. You assume some things and state it as fact. As I said, Saturday will be fun.
After that I will become a Sooner fan again.

If you will check the forums I have been a Sooner fan since Bud Wilkinson days. My Dad went to OU. My Grandson happened to get a Scholarship to West Virginia.
Hopefully that explains it to you.

WV has the best secondary in the conference. Not based on their gawdy stats but Joseph is probably top 8 in safeties to have played in the big 12.. corners are good.. tough group.

Depends how much time Mayfield can buy in the pocket because all protection breaks down eventually.

West Virginia does not have much of a pass rush.

not sure where I said anything about your loyalty?

I pointed out the wv offense had some weird numbers...led in 2 categories but was last in the other 2.
you stated that wv had a better D...rankings wise...someone pointed out wv's schedule, you offered OU's...I pointed out wv sos was weaker than OU's.

I know your grandson is playing for wv...I've been around the board a long time...even before it was this board.

No offense, but hopefully your grand-son doesn't sniff the field sat! (doubt it happens but who knows.)

No offense to you either. Now that is behind us, are you familiar with any property for sale in SE Okla? Preferably a little west of the Talihina area. Not interested in Beavers Bend or Broken Bow area.

I'm selling some land just outside of Antlers. I have a buyer who is interested, but I'm finalizing county approval for an easement to build a road -- hopefully he'll still be there when it's finalized.

I wouldn't mind if Lambert kicks a few 50+ yarders and stays on the Lou Groza watch list for a final score of:

OU - 47
WVU - 9

Then we can have a big group hug around here.

If by some off-week miracle, we get our running going early/Ross takes a KO back, this is an even TO battle, and our defense shows up then we'll win by 3 or 4 TDs.
If we're getting pushed around on both sides of the LOS for the 1st 3 qtrs like we did against Tulsa, our DBs are chasing their receivers with the back of their heads to the ball, special teams play their typical lackluster boring game (FGs instead of TDs/Ross doesn't take any KOs back beyond the 20 or 25/plenty of fair-catches on punts) then we'll probably lose what appears to be a close one in the press scoreboards something like 49 to 42 or 56 to 49 , although we'll look good in the stats primarily due to a urgent 4th qtr comeback.

The worry here is that WVU might actually play some defense which is clearly in violation of the big12 bylaws.

Hilarious! I have been wondering about this whole lack of defense thing, but then I heard, that in last year's BU / MSU bowl game, the #1 defense of MSU still gave up over 600 yards to BU. Dang.

And what is the deal with this? If it's so painfully obvious to us, shouldn't a coach say something to them? I just kept shaking my head during the Tulsa game.

What if I told you that is a coached technique used some in recent years? It's terrible but it's a fear based coverage.

I would say I don't care unless you are saying it is coached at OU. There are definitely times to take what is an almost certain PI flag, but it shouldn't be the normal M.O.

Don't know, but after watching some highlight shows of last week's CFB games, it seems that plenty of teams had DBs who at the last second found the ball and picked it w/o it hitting them in the back. Maybe they have DBs with better ball instincts, are coached-up better, have better communication among their DBs or are playing against QBs who don't have the skills to put the ball perfectly on each pass (but I doubt it). In any event after watching some of the highlights of the W.Va QB against Maryland, our DBs/Defensive coaches better bring their A game on Saturday or our pass rush better put some effective heat on their QB.

I guess I'm not in the cool crowd like you. Just responding to the title of thread with what I think will happen. If I played by your rules I'd guess OU wins by at least 50 points and has the third string in by the third quarter. Unfortunately, I don't think that will happen 'cause Mike Stoops is probably already pissing down his leg. Sadly, I fear, that will continue all day tomorrow.

Mike, please prove me wrong, I beg you.

I agree I'm cool, but it's just me - no such crowd around here. (Also, I was just being sarcastic - people seem to always predict a win even if they have been bitchin' all week about how bad things are.)
