Is one cool cat. Last week, before the 4th qtr I think, they showed him on the sideline. And he gave someone a wink and a smile. "What? Me worry?" And today, I saw him laughing with Perine before the next play. Even though the game seemed to be done at that point. Still, he doesn't seem to get upset. Stays cool. I like what I'm seeing.

So how are his stats relative to the any player considered a Heisman contender?

At the game they said he had the most total TDs

Wonder how that looks now

He's averaging 354 ypg passing...1,062 total passing yards (12 game extrapolation= 4,248 yards)
10 passing td's...2 int. (12 game extrapolation = 40 td's/8 int.)
4 rushing td's
46 ypg rushing

I'd put him against any QB in the nation.

How does 3-0 project out?

That's the important one :)

That's what me and my brother are talking. No Heisman talk for him.

I mean, I guess you can say he didn't do any thing the first half of the first two games but he's played lights out.

All I know is they were comparing him to Manziel on the teevee.

As a player, not as a decent human being.

It will be interesting to see what notice is taken of Mayfield breaking a school record for offense today in only his third game out.

Thought I heard on sports center this morning his completion percentage was 83%. Thought they were talking about on the season but could have been just Tulsa. I'm too lazy to go look right now.

It's from the 2nd half of the Tennessee game until now.. So in 6 quarters ... I tried to tell ppl when he's in a rhythm he can ball. He's pretty damn accurate.

Seems they were talking more about Boykin's similar effort

If he continues this pace against WV and UT, then the
Sunday/Monday after the RRS, he'll be in the mix. Your
12 game extrapolation would have him responsible for
56 TD's and almost 5000 yds total offense...be really hard
not to consider him....

His completion % from Saturday was overshadowed on the sports news by the completion percentage of the Georgia qb. He set the record (minimum 20 passes). something like 96%

Posted towards the bottom of the page on ESPN under gameday final:

Heisman Candidates:

. Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU: Fournette was a man among boys in LSU's 45-21 win over Auburn, running for 228 yards with three touchdowns on 19 carries. It was the seventh-highest total in LSU history, and he averaged 12 yards per carry, most by a Tigers player with at least 15 attempts in a game.

2. Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia: Chubb ran 21 times for 159 yards with two touchdowns, leading Georgia to a 52-20 victory over South Carolina, its most lopsided win ever over a Steve Spurrier-coached team. Chubb gained 100 yards for the 11th straight game and surpassed 2,000 career yards in his 16th college game.

3. Trevone Boykin, QB, TCU: Boykin is heating up after a slow start in the opener against Minnesota, scoring 10 total touchdowns in the past two games. He completed 21 of 30 passes for 454 yards with five touchdowns and one interception against SMU. He also ran for 50 yards with one score.

4. Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma: The Texas Tech transfer set an OU record with 572 yards of total offense in a 52-38 victory over Tulsa. Mayfield completed 32 of 38 passes for 487 yards with four touchdowns and ran for 85 yards with two scores.

Yea, I don't want to be counting chickens. But I am impressed with what I've seen so far. Good leadership, cool under pressure, and a good arm. Eager to see what he can do against WV.

NCAA and Big 12 stats as of this morning. I am having trouble pasting this. The first part is BIG12 ranking and the number gives their ranking Nationally.

Skylar Howard WVU 17
Martin Rudolph OK S. 26

Trey Boykin TCU 42
P. Mahomes TT 53
Seth Russell Baylor 59

Mahomes 6
Mayfield 12
Howard 16
Rudolph 41

Passing yds per game
Boykin 4

I guess I'm tired of 1 finger typing as the link won't work and it won't copy and paste. There is a lot more available, but it doesn't tell the whole story of the athlete.
I'm catching all kinds of 'ell from the TT fans as I told them they would be crying to have Mayfield back.

Hmm that is interesting. So you want us to forfeit the National Championship Game since that would be our 14th game???

Anywa all I want is to get in the playoffs doesnt really matter if we get there going 12-0 or 11-1. If we get in the playoffs I will be satisfied.

forgot that...(I'll go with Ohio st/msu, ND, Ol Miss/georgia/lsu and ucla/utah being undefeated...along with OU.. see, we'll be undefeated but out of the playoff pic)...so yes, 13-0!
