It took a little longer than expected for Bob Stoops' new Oklahoma coaching staff to find its footing on the recruiting trail, but top recruiters Dennis Simmons and Kerry Cooks are finally making their mark.
Oklahoma:1. It’s looking like Oklahoma’s revamped coaching staff is starting to find its groove on the recruiting trail. The Sooners have reeled in four commitments in three weeks, including top targets like ESPN 300 linebacker Bryce Youngquist and coveted defensive backs Chanse Sylvie and Parrish Cobb.
Bob Stoops made some major changes in the offseason and many fans expected the Sooners to immediately start racking up commitments. But that’s not how recruiting works. It takes time for coaches to get familiar with the product they are selling to recruits. Plus, recruiting is based on trust and strong relationships, and it takes time for both to be forged.

This might be the best news regarding recent staff changes.

Hmmm. Why would the commitment of three star athletes matter to me? In your opinion, of course.

Also, we have no idea whether they've "found their footing on the recruiting trail" until the prospect hit campus and, further, whether they ever contribute.

Too early to tell but so far pretty: meh

And I'm not blaming old coaches or new coaches, but simply the overall state of the program is not what it once was earlier in Stoops tenure. If anyone can be blamed, or I guess credited with anything - it's Stoops.
