Until they find a way to breed blue grass, fake turf is far inferior to real grass in all sports, especially football/futbol... and if they just paint the entire thing instead, you might as well have them play on a slip and slide.
The Big 12 once considered Boise State. It rightly looked elsewhere.

Poorly designed football field. Notice the end zone seating, and the track would keep it from being very intimidating. One word for it....UGLY!

I actually like it. I wouldn't want everybody to start doing it, but it's uniquely Boise, and I think it was a good call on their part.
Unfortunately for them, they have yet to have a school president utter the words our late George Lynn Cross once did for OU: "I would like to build a University of which the football team could be proud."
As such, they need to up their academics before big boy conferences would even consider them, otherwise they'd be a geographic and football fit for the Pac 12(ish)

This school was a JUNIOR COLLEGE in the 60s! I just love all these schools getting down on their knees begging. Geez!

And then, there's always the red turf of Eastern Washington...Doubtful that they will be televised any time soon...I think the cameras would malfunction...
