managed to be driving right into that thing from work tonight. my poor Subaru.

guess i'll check out the hail damage tomorrow.

i'm pretty sure i'm never living in Moore. by my count, almost the same stretch of I-35 in Moore has been hit 4 times in the last 16 years.

someone really should have told the Warrens

Years ago a young man at OU did a thesis, the gist of which was, tornadoes occur in zones or some such, following the same track repeatedly. At the time, his evidence was inconclusive, he did not prove his thesis and the prevailing opinion is tornadoes occur pretty much anywhere. But it does seem Moore, Oklahoma has seen more than it's share of them. There was also a piece in a weather DVD I used to show my Earth Science classes about a rancher in west Texas whose home had been leveled 3 times. I still think it's coincidence but I bet insurance companies have "zones" where coverage costs more. Anyone have any information about that?

They do seem to always navigate I-44 when they come out of the SW, until they get to Newcastle where I-44 turns back North. Once they get past that curve, they seem to start turning to the East after crossing the river. Weird.

Saw all the damage this morning on TV. Having grown up in southern OK
and been around my share of twisters, my heart goes out to those in the
"alley". The city planners of Moore ought to consider relocating the whole
dayum town. I'd thought about moving after the second one and would
have hightailed it outa there for sure after the third one...I'm one of those
that believe in the zone thing....
