@themattheikkila: 3 counties in NY, one in Philadelphia, one in Los Angeles, and one in Illinois have more residents living below the poverty line than Alabama, South Carolina, Louisiana, and Mississippi, combined, AND, all are SOLID Democratic Congressional districts. And what of population differences? If you have 19 million people living in NYC and you run 100 miles of federal interstate through it, and you have 1.8 million people living in the entire state of Nebraska and you run 300 miles of interstate through it, well gosh, I guess Nebraska is a bunch of "takers." This "research" is pure foolishness with far too many variables left unconsidered.…
