WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration set a new record again for more often than ever censoring government files or outright denying access to them last year under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, according to a new analysis of federal data by The Associated Press.

It also acknowledged in nearly 1 in 3 cases that its initial decisions to withhold or censor records were improper under the law — but only when it was challenged.

The government responded to 647,142 requests, a 4 percent decrease over the previous year. It more than ever censored materials it turned over or fully denied access to them, in 250,581 cases or 39 percent of all requests. Sometimes, the government censored only a few words or an employee's phone number, but other times it completely marked out nearly every paragraph on pages.

On 215,584 other occasions, the government said it couldn't find records, a person refused to pay for copies or the government determined the request to be unreasonable or improper.

The White House touted its success under its own analysis. It routinely excludes from its assessment instances when it couldn't find records, a person refused to pay for copies or the request was determined to be improper under the law, and said under this calculation it released all or parts of records in 91 percent of requests — still a record low since President Barack Obama took office using the White House's own math.

It's obvious that the Obama Administration is of the opinion that if you tell enough people a lie, and you do it with a straight face, that over time, there will be a segment of the population, like Sooner8th, that will believe it. They have used this ploy with most every controversy or scandal, be it Benghazi or the IRS, fast and furious or the many times he has exceeded his authority, the most egregious being his Executive action of Immigration.
This Administration is not only the least transparent Administration in history, but it will be shown, that it is the most corrupt, unscrupulous, unprincipled, unethical and nefarious Administration in history too.
It is too bad that when this con man began his assent to the Presidency, that the media did not have the moral compass or professionalism to properly conduct a careful and critical examination of his past, without regard to his political affiliation or his race. If done so, it would have divulged what we now know, and spared this Nation irreparable damage.

If you objectively judge his time in the Senate, it was unpredictable. He was a much better Senator than this. He conducted himself well in committee hearings, he was a big advocate of transparency and put his money where his mouth was actually co-authoring one of the best transparency bills in ages, and he was a tireless critic of the national surveillance/police state.

If you objectively judge his time in the Senate, it was unpredictable. He was a much better Senator than this. And with the eye on the Presidency, I don't doubt that he was playing up to the good guy moniker, but we see what he is all about now. Recall he presented himself as a new type of leader, one that would be a unifier. A "change" in what we had become accustomed to. Guy on our cul de sac back in 2008 discussing who we were going to vote for, and this guy's dad was a staunch conservative, he told me Obama, and I asked him why, and his reply "change". I mean everything this man does is with respect to how it will play out politically. I mean he delays the Executive Action on Immigration until AFTER the elections last fall. He has managed to keep the Army from releasing their findings on Bowe Bergdahl's AWOL charges until who knows when, even though most any source has stated that their investigation is now complete. Is more time giving the BHO Administration an opportunity to have those findings revised? From what we know about BHO today, would that really surprise anyone?
I will be shocked if after he leaves office, a lot of people don't come forward with dirt on this man. I think he harbors a graveyard full of skeletons.
