Oklahoma State and New Mexico State finally reach a settlement in the lawsuit over the use of the pistol pete mascot.

New Mexico State has to pay OSU $10/year to use the mascot.

OSU is smart. They probably paid about a thousand times that to file the suit. They're smart!

Here's the story: LINK (http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/24863440/oklahoma-state-new-mexico-state-reach-agreement-on-logo-usage?)

That was my thought. Why even file a law suit if you're going to settle for $10 a year?

They'd hired an OSU grad lawyer and were thus reasonably assured of losing the suit.

Pathetic. Before this article, did anyone even know whether New Mexico State still fielded a football team?

No matter which state you are in, Aggy will be Aggy.

(Some of you artsy fartsy types need to come out with an Aggy vs. Aggy comic to rival the old Spy vs. Spy we used to read as kids.)

Wasn't Spy vs. Spy without dialogue?

Thank goodness OSU will be paid $10 a year for the Pistol Pete imposter's use :stunned:

The lawsuit that was really silly was Joe Wickline being offensive coordinator at Texas. He wasn't calling the plays, so OSU wanted back a half-million. (http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/johnehoover/john-e-hoover-a-new-chant-in-stillwater-o-s/article_e5208bad-89a0-5b8b-948b-2b060c560707.html)

Honestly, for that butt-ugly POS--NMST is looking pretty dumb. Maybe I could frame a nice turd I drop later and send it to 'em for $10 a year.

Because that lawyer will pay for itself tenfold 100,000 years from now. Gotta look at the big picture.

Amen. OSU actually came out pretty good here. NMSU should be getting paid to use that thing, so the fact that they're paying OSU any money at all is borderline miraculous.

Because....something all Aggies need also costs $10.

Wow, we should be looking for other colleges using our horsepig mascots to sue for that kind of big bucks!

I can see it now! OSU will schedule a game with NMSU, and all you will hear is: "Pistols Firing!!" The mascots can shoot each other.

People laugh at $10/yr. But if wisely invested like one of my mutual funds, after 10 years, it could be $75.

It would be one of the more successful investments by OSU in recent years, then. Remember that T. Bone Pick's hedge funding lost pretty much everything till he gave another donation to replace investment losses... and who can forget the "Gift of a Lifetime" losings. Oh shoot, our Pokes aren't dying... REFUND OUR MONEY! You won't? :stunned:

The sordid tale of investments losing nearly $282 million in four months and more (http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2012-10-04/if-only-t-dot-boone-pickens-had-died#p1)

Used to live over by Stoolwater. They use em as a kind of currency out there. Kinda like cigarettes in prison.

Holy crap! I woulda thought that just being a stool state fan would be enough to die Sooner rather than later. That's desperation.

To fundraise off your proud alumni's deaths... that sounds morbid, but then they failed at that and then tried to claim fraud, so it should. I think as of now only one of the chosen actually died, and it was after OSU discontinued paying the premiums, so they didn't even get to cash in on the death :stunned:

As much as all the aggies want to say Booger doesn't rule the school, he does. He's the one giving all this advice to sue everyone and start buying life insurance policies for the elderly rich alums and then sue for the premiums paid after no one starts dying. He may not be sitting in Stoolwater giving the directions but Mikey Holder and Burnsy Hargis are on the phone constantly with him getting orders. Booger has given osewe all this money and by gawd, he's gone run it as he sees fit!
