This is another division within the GOP...the libertarian wing v. the old guard Neocons represented by McCain and Peter(or is it Dick?) King.

Rand Paul voted against it because it didn't go far enough and would have reauthorized parts of the Patriot Act that would will expire shortly. I agree with his reasoning. I would have been fine if he had supported it as did Mike Lee and Ted Cruz..

One of the reasons it was blocked was because it extended the sunset clause of the Patriot Act from mid 2015 to Dec 31, 2017. There was toxic stuff added to it in the Senate that ultimately led to its rejection, mostly added by Democrats. Just another example of both parties screwing over the people.
