Yahoo - Oklahoma QB Trevor Knight does not have concussion, status unknown for Saturd

Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight left Saturday’s 48-14 loss to Baylor in the fourth quarter with a neck injury and OU head coach Bob Stoops said Monday that Knight’s status is currently unknown moving forward. According to Soonerscoop.com, Stoops said Knight’s MRI and X-rays were negative , but he was “ pretty sore .” Stoops said the sophomore would not practice on Monday and that the team will know more about his status for Saturday’s game against Texas Tech over the next few days. Additionally, Stoops was clear that Knight’s injury is not a concussion. Additionally, Stoops said Blake Bell, who was converted to tight end over the offseason, would be Thomas’ backup if Knight cannot play. He has thrown for 2,197 yards, 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions while also running for 340 yards and five touchdowns. If Thomas is forced to make his first career start in Knight’s absence, he’ll face a porous Texas Tech (3-6, 1-5 Big 12) defense that allows 41.6 points per game.
