He left the Stadium on his feet so I'm sticking by my initial shoulder issue

Was it just me or did the slo-mo replay show the baylor player that came into the tackle last actually cocked and drove his forearm into Trevor's facemask. It appeared to be a very dirty cheap hit, but nobody commented on it.

Thought his neck was the concern?

I commented on another thread (Congrats Baylor) and was called out for being Pokish.

Mr. Gal (who isn't even a native OU homer) was yelling about the cheap shot even before the replay.

It was a late hit, not sure it was a cheap shot but 2 Baylor dudes had already hammered him, but who cares. I'm embarrassed and concerned about far more issues to sweat that. Hell, idgas if Thomas plays every snap the rest of the season. This team has been a total letdown outside of a few players

You sound like Bob Stoops. "Who cares?" Just an injured player. He didn't play very well so he deserved whatever happened..... even if it was the result of a cheap shot.

Is that about right?

You don't care if TK's injury is so serious that he's out for the year?

That's as low as it gets.

Knight will probably not be cleared to play this week. David Ash had his career ended because of a series of head injuries. Knight's injury was totally unnecessary and uncalled for.

And a neck injury as well. He'll get some treatment and heal up. If it was career threatening I wouldn't feel so optimistic. It wasn't a whip lash type hit more of a delayed hit to the neck area which between the helmet and shoulder pads is about two inches of exposure. I get that it was prolly twisted but I think he'll recover pretty quickly.

I've re-watched the hit, and it looks dirty from every view. TK was clearly going down, and damn sure didn't need the hit that came from behind. However, I'll admit that I'm looking at it from a biased perspective...it just seemed really excessive. If it wasn't a dirty hit, the forearm to the facemask (from Oakman) was a dirty shot.

From the look of it (and how he was reacting), it looked like he was having trouble moving his left arm....stinger maybe? Nonetheless, happy to hear there wasn't anything negative on the MRI. Head injuries are not to be messed with.

Careful. You're entering Pokishness territory.

W. T. F?

Let me add my two cents.

Congratulations, Baylor. Your cheap shot late hits on our QB resulted in him being taken off the field on a stretcher. Well done, A-holes.

You've gotta be kidding me. If that's OU on defense we praise them for finishing the play. Nothing intentional or cheap about that all. Let's not whine in our misery... Baylor's "cheap shots" are the least of our problems right now.

Grats Baylor for a well played game.

You missed the memo - we're to start acting like pokes fans now. You know - the fans we used to make fun of for acting like so many of our fans are now.

dude, u are blind. He went in with his forearm...with no question Knight was going to be down tackled by 2 other guys.....followed through to his head. Yes it was. I hope OU sends it into the league for a review.

This is the dude who was spouting off about OU getting the nod to win the league this year....

When I saw Knight get hit late by 2 guys, I was thinking intentional, with desire to hurt him. It brought to mind the dirty hit on one of our highly regarded lineman at the game with U of Washington up in Seattle. I don't remember who they got, but he was out most or all of the rest of the season.

That hit was against DeMargus Granger and his career was never the same. I accept that injuries are part of the game, but it's really irksome when they are caused intentionally.

I believe he's actually 6'8" and 280. And yes he did lead with his forearm. Dirty hit, but I can see why it wasn't flagged as a late hit. Not sure if the BXII office can discipline like the NFL can. I suppose Briles can. Stoops can certainly bring it to the attention of the BXII.

Knight's injury is on Bob Stoops. Knight should not have been in at that point in the game given the score. That's just Bob Stoops being a selfish and stubborn jerk once more, but this time, it bit him on the backside.

Really? Would you say the same thing about Sam Bradford? He had a ton of injuries during his OU career.

My 12 year old thinks he wants to play football next year. I have heard the junior high and high school coaches here put pressure on kids to play with injuries. That type of attitude is detrimental to the program and the game in the long run.

Sam had one injury at OU after playing for 2 years. He then re-aggravated it against Texas. Knight was injured twice last year, briefly injured earlier this year, and now injured again apparently. He is slightly built and fragile. I suspect that is one reason why Stoops didn't run him for so long.

Would be difficult to not make my next play from scrimmage a double chop block on Oakman (take out both his knees while he is engaged high) and then pile on the dirty mother scratcher. At least that is how we handled those types of players when we played mud lot football when I was a kid.

He also had a concussion against TTU and tore up his thumb against OSU ( although the latter didn't cause him to miss time).

Sounds like TK is being held out of practice today (Monday), and it'll be a 'wait and see' situation. Stoops reaffirmed that all test results were negative and that the injury wasn't related to TK's head. He wouldn't elaborate, but I think it's safe to assume it's a shoulder issue. Nonetheless, Stoops said he was just "very sore". If TK can't go, Thomas is the guy and Blake will get some extra work at QB this week and will be the back-up for Thomas.

On a semi-related note, Tyrus Thompson said that "Cody is going to be really good" and he mentioned that things will be interesting next year (as it relates to Thomas or Knight at QB). I always think the players comments are far more informative than what the coaches say, and Thompson seemed pretty excited about Thomas' ability.

Just getting a week of practice with the first team will be a great experience for Thomas. I'm not expecting miracles from a guy with so little experience, but it will be interesting to see what he can do if he gets the call. It will also be interesting to see how the team plays and if they respond to playing for pride (which is important, IMO).

Who said that? If I were HBC, I would start Thomas next week regardless because TK has to be accountable for throwing pick-6s (minus 1 yard). But Bob doesn't seem to that at the QB position, but being cautious with TK gives him the perfect excuse without saying he is benching TK. Competition has a very focusing effect.

That's pretty scary. Although it looked like he could move his legs the whole time, but not his arms or upper body. "Quad" implies arms and legs in my mind. Regardless, he looked very helpless out there.

Supposedly this condition can be somewhat chronic in 40 % of those who experience it. Hopefully TK is in that 60% that don't.

You could tell he was having a hard time getting his limbs to respond the way he was rolling around on the field when he was trying to get up after that hit. Prayers for TK.
