Hadn't really thought along those lines. Really would not care to see that happen...BHO would then become a "martyr" of sorts, he deserves to go down in history as the feckless president that he is.

The main reason I'm hoping the GOP regains the Senate is to make sure another liberal justice doesn't land on the Supreme Court.

Curious about your last point.... As far as major decisions have been handed down... Is it the ACA decision? The gay marriage desicions? I am neither leaning left or right but it was the conservative majority that ruled on Citizens United which in my view could be one of the worst rulings in their history.

I just differ on the opinion that we a have a liberal supreme court right now. If there is any body of goverment that needs to be balanced it is the supreme court.

If he goes extra-constitutional with amnesty, he will be impeached or sued.

Well, if I remember my Clinton years, the House will vote on counts of impeachment and that only requires a simple majority.

However, for the Senate to ratify the impeachment, it will take a supermajority, 60 votes. So by "Repubs Get the senate " you need to mean 60 votes, not 51 simple majority.

Speaking of... regardless of the midterm's outcome, a lot of nothing is going to happen during the next two years. President Obama is going to veto everything passed by the Senate and House and the Senate and House will not have the veto override votes necessary to pass legislation. But, that seems to be the way people want it after the past six-ish years

I guess my point is any justice appointed by BHO with a Democratic senate majority will be flaming leftist. And that person will be rendering judgments that have the effect of law for likely a couple of decades or more. That's something I'd rather not see happen to my country.

Don't think there'll be much about Obama for 2016 to matter. If the Pubs
try to impeach him, I think THEY would pay the price in 2016. High crimes
and misdemeanors is the constitutional standard for impeachment (if my
civics class teacher was right) and, no matter your party, to this point,
there is nothing that even remotely resembles that standard. My goodness,
the previous administration had a triumvirate of advisors whispering in W's
ear to do stuff that could easily be classified as war crimes and I don't recall
impeachment in that discussion....jus sayin...

If the Pubs get the Senate and keep the House, which looks more and more likely,
then it'll be the right's turn to complain about all the obstructionism....:highly_amused:

If he goes extra-constitutional with amnesty, he will be impeached or sued. He's promised amnesty before the new congress takes office. I expect Him to deliver on that promise.

Eh that wont happen...the worst I guess for you, that will happen is he will try to replace Ginsberg who has been ready to retire for a while. But lucky for you, the Repubs will run congress and they will stall every appointee he nominates just like they have done for the last 6 years. If he somehow gets who he wants the court will still be 5-4 leaning conservative.

The appointee will be Borked?the repubs don't disallow democrat's socialist/unconstitutional appointees. They should, but they haven't in the past.

Who are the unconstitutional appointees? Just curious.

Who is holding up legislation in Congress right now?

Fanin, google "who is blocking bills in congress" and you'll find the
overwhelming reports that it isn't the Dems doing it. Sanders has a
website that lists many of those blocked by Pub votes and so many
more reports from Reuters, Politico, Wash Post, Wash Times, CNN,
and so on.

I did. I found this article from the Washington Post. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/wp/2014/07/15/obamas-claim-that-the-gop-has-blocked-every-serious-idea/

So, are you a big fan of Harry Reid? I'm not a big fan of John Boehner but he seems more of a non-partisan than the Crypt Keeper who cuurently holds the Senate Majority position.

No, I'm not a fan of Reid, I am disappointed that somehow he got to the
leadership, he shouldn't be. My thought is that someone who can find a
way to cross the "divide" should be there...neither Reid or Pelosi fit that
bill. Fact is, imo, Boehner is just as bad, McConnell should be taken to a
woodshed somewhere (rilly, just my imo, you'd be better off with ANYONE
who's upper lip moved when he spoke)....I guess what my point is that we
are SO in need of new leadership in both parties (and some indies, too). I
know the constitution won't let us but, somehow, get 'em ALL out!!!!!!!!!!!

Ummm, izzat enuf?
