It appeared after the Alabama beatdown last year that OU was really talented and could make a serious run at a National Championship. As much as Heupel has had some very pedestrian play calling at times, this one is on Mike Stoops and that defensive backfield. Sanchez and Wilson love to gamble, can't tackle and aren't very good in coverage. The safeties aren't much help either.

Early observations

Ross can run east and west and not just N and S. Looks like Gundy has done a good job this week getting the RBs to see the hole.
Refs are meh. Should've been off-setting 15 yarders, with a 15 called against the puddys for a late hit or spearing. Rip got screwed, but it was also a decent call.
Should've been a 15 against Rip, but he shouldn't have been tossed, imo. D better keep their head on a swivel today, and not get so excited to stop the run. The Old Man isn't a conservative Heupel.

Excellent play calls there. We should have the ability to run some between the tackles now, since we've got them respecting the deep ball. Hopefully we can get some other receivers to show up other than shep, and if we are able to spread the ball around a bit especially over the middle, we should be able to get Ross and Perine to the 2nd level with the rush up the middle.

D needs a pick or a Stiker/Geno special with a sack/strip and TO for 6.

Bleh, this game may be a 60-58 type track meet if our O doesn't go into a shell.
