Manziel is impressive in the fact that he was such a major ********* with huge question marks from a skillset standpoint, yet he was still picked in the first round.

Then again, it was the Browns, so it doesn't really count.

In the latest saga of Jimbo's head is stuck in the sand... this. (http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11697064/florida-state-seminoles-look-jameis-winston-autographs)

Don't think that sand is the location of where his head is...340+ certified
Winston autographs, to go with 500+ Gurley signings. How can this not
send Winston and Gurley both to the Neffel?

Question: How is Winston's situation different from that of Shannon?
Answer: It is not. EXCEPT, he and the team stonewalled everyone for almost two years. Now, if only they can slow play a little more, there won't be any conclusion until, oh, say February or so of 2015. At most Winston will lose his privilege of using the training facilities to get ready for the combine.

There's a lesson to be drawn here kiddos, and it's not a very uplifting one: Follow the rules, be penalized.

Maybe this is to deflect attention away from the university's supposed investigation of the alleged sexual misconduct???

Isn't that just a corollary of "no good deed goes unpunished" ? Proven as fact many times over.

Pretty much.

OU: Frank Shannon, due to the threat of losing federal funding under Title IX law, we must take more strict approaches to cases of alleged sexual assault than law enforcement and are suspending you for the season.

Jimbo: La la la la la la la

Georgia: Gurley, it has come to our attention that some autographs authenticated suggest that you accepted money for signing memorabilia. We will therefore need to suspend you pending an investigation.

Jimbo: La la la la la la la

Jameis: **** her in the *****! **** her in the *****! **** her in the *****!

Jimbo: La la la la

FSU: We're suspending Jameis, Jimbo.

In short, this is all on Jimbo for not controlling his moron

But Badg, they are not suspending him. They are merely scheduling a hearing. One need not be too terribly cynical to script the outcome of that as:

1. Hearing sometime in the next month or so. That moves us to, oh, early November.
2. Formal investigation called for. "By God, we'll get to the bottom of this!" Lightning speed and we're at early December....end of the regular season.
3. Appeals process. Bare minimum of 30 days, plus some allowance for the holidays. Maybe as much as 90 days. In any event, we're now into mid-January.

And, VOILA!, FSU gets Jameis through any conceivable games this post season. And did anyone really think he was coming back next fall?

Jimbo may not have controlled his moron, but he, or more appropriately his puppetmasters, have controlled the process in a magisterial fashion. They won't be sanctioned by the NCAA because the NCAA is toothless and corrupt and weak and useless; and the Federal Government won't make them pay by yanking their research projects because Florida is a swing state and there is really no constituency for 'rule of law' when you can point to formalistic compliance.
About the only people who will continue to follow this will be the New York Times who will, undoubtedly, write another one or two scathing articles, meticulously documented....by people without subpoena power, laying bare the soulless manipulation of the system by FSU boosters and staff and by local 'law enforcement' and the casual non-feasance of the so-called regulatory bodies involved, then we'll all go on about our business.

I was referring to the Clemp game suspension. You know, the game where idiot stupidhead came out fully dressed in pregame warming up his throwing arm like he was going to play, then Jimbo was like "No, moron, you're suspended, change into sweats before more TV cameras show you like this"

I could have also used this example:

Jameis: Getting me some free crablegs, yeah I walked out without paying for them, tee hee

Jimbo: La la la la la

FSU: We're suspending him for three games.

Jimbo: La la la... WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!?!

FSU: Three baseball games.

Jimbo: Oh. la la la la la
