View Full Version : Is this the 2014 upset weekend?

It seems there is one every season, when not one but several teams ranked in the Top 10 go down.

It defies explanation but it seems to happen, that every team that is snakebit occurs the same weekend.

#2 Oregon has already lost to unranked Arizona (think of all those bright yellow Oregon hats they handed out that must have wound up in the trash).

24 of the Top 25 play this weekend (only Missouri has a bye) and 6 of those games pit Top 25 teams against each other (including OUr game with #25 TCU) so with Oregon's loss, at least 7 ranked teams will go down.

#3 Alabama vs #11 Mississippi
#5 Auburn vs #15 LSU
#6 Texas A&M vs #12 Mississippi State
#9 Notre Dame vs #14 Stanford
#10 Michigan State vs #19 Nebraska

The real upsets are when the unranked team wins.

Can Texas beat #7 Baylor or Utah beat #8 UCLA?

Just so long as Stoops uses the duck loss to illustrate potential risk and we escape frog land with a W.

I don't want OU to be one of those upsets this weekend

This thread is not helping my nervousness for this game...

Upsets are good, so long as it's your team and not my team.

Or in the case of everyone here, your team is my team, so we're all squared away :P

It certainly helps to have an example to use when trying to get a point across.

Baylor will maul the whorns but Utah could surprise...
What's really interesting is that the SEC matchups will roil
the rankings...can't wait for how many SEC teams will still
make the playoffs with one/two losses....heh...

And I'm sure that was of great comfort to them as they were being stomped by Morman Aggie last night.

Morans.

I always say it's unlucky to be superstitious, but...

I blame this thread.

Add #8 to the list of upsets. And that hail mary asu completed to beat usc, while not a major upset it was fun to watch because the qb gave his teammates a chance by keeping the ball in play!

It was a bad week to be a ranked team it would appear....
