I am a fan of Highland Park 18 and Talisker 18. I like a balance of sweetness, smoothness, and also some peat/smoke. Laphroaig is nice, but a bit too peaty for my tastes. I am one of the few who drinks bourbon or scotch neat. Some say some ice brings out the flavor of the whiskey, but it seems to just dilute the spirit for me.

So, any favorite scotch whiskeys? Also, I am curious if you drink it neat, with ice, or with some water?

Welp, I RILLY like Vet's choice, but, given it should be bottled. I have two,
from a long time ago when I was stationed in Scotland, Glen Livet...and, more
recently, I have a bottle of 12 year old Chivas that has been in my cabinet now
for 25 years. I look at it once in a while but think I'll wait for a special occasion.
Same with a bottle of Patron La Plata (just fer a margarita) so, with all the confusion,
I jus say....'scuse me whilst I git 'nother beer....:indecisiveness:

A bit pricey but Johnny Walker Blue Label is heaven in a bottle.

Looks great, Tampa. I have yet to try The Balvenie, but that will change this weekend. There's an English pub nearby which has scotch flights, including a Balvenie flight. The flight has both of your favorites and also a 17 and 21. I am anxious to see if Balvenie is distinctly different from the other Speyside whiskys, as I have been told.
