Also, looking like one of their top receivers (Pearson) will be out next week with an ankle injury.

I still think the Vols have the talent to make it a game, but it does appear they will be very over-matched.

I live in the shadow of the Smoky Mountains, about 90 miles from Knoxville. No takers on any bets until today. I killed them on the Superbowl this year.

They do have some talent and their QB can throw the ball, but with 5 Freshman starting on the OL, it should be a long day for the UT offense.

I remember the exploits of Bob Womack and Granville Liggins. That was about the time I actually started reading the news stories of the Sooners rather than just the headlines.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nOlATuyPDII bet there are many? folks here that remember that game. I didn't go to the game, but remember it well. It gave Sooner fans confidence in the new coaching staff of Fairbanks, Switzer, and Jimmy Johnson.

They've went from meltdown mode into punchers chance mode straight into thinking they have any actual shot.

Because they beat Arky State?

What I'm interested to see in this game is the OU focus and intensity. Those things clearly waned a bit after the 1st quarter yesterday when it became clear how much better they were than Tulsa. They even came out of half a bit flat. I don't see that happening next week and we should really get a feel for how good OUr team can be.

I am a Vols fan who remembers that game.

Even more upsetting to Tennessee fans than losing that Orange Bowl game to Oklahoma with a missed FG, was that Tennessee's head coach Doug Dickey had announced the day before (New Year's Eve) that he was leaving Tennessee to accept the head coaching job at his Alma Mater, The University of Florida.

All in all, it made a terrible start to 1968.
