Once again, mere speculation at this point. NewsOK.com link here. (http://newsok.com/police-investigate-possible-suicide-at-university-of-oklahoma/article/3942505)

University police had taped off an area near the Mosier Practice Facility by 3 p.m. and appeared to be searching a car that was parked in the area.

Student-athletes walking near the scene were instructed not to speak with the media by individuals who appeared to be coaches or university staff members.

Police also erected makeshift walls around the area, shielding it from view on a brutally windy day in central Oklahoma.

The body was found near the massive training center along Lindsey Street, where the university’s football program had held its pro day earlier in the day.

I really hope this isn't true. Post what you hear when you hear it please

So is it a student athlete or are you insinuating it was an athlete due to the location of the dead body?

I tried to delete my comment because after i posted, i noticed the speculation part of the thread. Sad story nonetheless.

Terrible.

Any word on whether it was a player?

I've looked everywhere. Nothing new. Odd that the Norman PD are withholding identification. Don't they usually maintain confidentiality until family has been notified?

Please God - don't let this be true.

According to OU Daily, the person found has no affiliation to OU so no student and no athlete. That comes as a relief but still a very sad story as next to kin has still not been notified.

Sorry to alert you all. Can we move this to South Oval and change the thread title? (I am not a real modador so I cannot)
