Grantland did an interview with Barry. Interesting as always.

That's why we call him the King, and why he deserves the crown. No one tops Switzer, and he's OUrs.

It has always made me feel lucky to have first seen live OU football in the reign of King Barry The Good.

And sending Billy Sims in a private jet to pick up Marcus Dupree for his official visit? Subtle, Barrah, Very Subtle.

It's been a few years since Switzer said "kids today don't care about tradition, they want shiny and new" when talking about OSU recruiting versus OU. I'd like to think he was wrong in that OU recruiting hasn't suffered at OSU's hands. However, I think it would be fair to say that a lot of area schools are now having to compete with OSU rather than OSU being an afterthought safety school if your top choice says no

I have long thought it would be a cool thing if a new guy was given a file containing information on the OU players who've worn his number back to the Bennie Owen days.

I mean it would give them grounding in the program. Or, we could do a Knight's Templar kind of deal and have the jersey given to them by the previous player to wear the number. In a ceremony. Torchlit. At Midnight. Following ice cold showers. Perhaps blood could be drawn and mixed in a bowl with wine and the freshman class would then each take a drink.

You know. Light, cheerful team building stuff.

Reading that interview and it just comes across how humble Switzer is. He gives credit to the people who came before him.

I liked the story he told about Keith Jackson's mom. Barry's just plain folks.

Well he also said he's one of the best college QB's he's ever seen.
Meh, he is a priviledged little arrogant prick.
No denying that.

The King calls it exactly the way it is. Those people who get torqued up over his comments had better man up and grow a set. Too many thin-skinned folks out there. Thank goodness we're not part of their numbers! lol
