And you wonder why we're recruiting elsewhere than Texas? Some perspective....

This in particular caught my eye:

QUESTION 9. Is there a particular program you feel is the “in” program right now to your players?

1. Texas A&M

2. Baylor

3. Oregon, TCU, Oklahoma State, Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Texas

I'd be more worried if I were Baylor. They said a lot of not nice things about them. Not being mentioned as good or bad in most cases is not a bad thing for OU

You have to take this article with a grain of salt because it looks like a very small sample size with poorly worded questions. The fact that so many schools are on the best AND worst lists points towards the skew of the questions from the people who responded (in survey theory, a high top box and a high bottom box point towards a problem with the question).

Another error is that it seems to be the coaches rating the schools, and not the actual players. The kid makes the decision, ultimately, and it doesn't matter what the coach wants. Jimmerson tried his hardest at BTW to keep some of those kids at OU, but they didn't want to, so it didn't matter.

Also, things like "pipeline" are misleading. You could technically say that the Tulsa-area schools like Jenks and Union have a pipeline with TU. More of their kids go to TU than anywhere else, so pipeline is a pretty accurate term, but OU, OSU, and Arkansas get first pick. TU gets what's left over, and there just happens to be quite a bit.

to me that says what teams do YOUR players think are the "hot" ones...not the coaches...yes/no?

That's true... Art Briles seems to be having his way a lot with in-state recruiting at Baylor. Perhaps some of the high school coaches are jealous that he's making millions at a college program after being only slightly (about 2000 to Leach's first Tech staff, right?) removed from the Texas high school coaching gig, whereas they're still stuck in high school, making far less.

Article says the metroplex. Is that the Fort Worth metroplex? If so, that is probably why OU isn't mentioned much...

The Metroplex would mean Dallas-Fort Worth. Only 12 schools were chosen so the sample size is incredibly small. Even if the 12 schools were all world beaters (Southlake, Allen, Aledo, Skyline to name a few) how many blue-chippers are they really producing. IMO, i feel like these are middle of the pack schools producing middle of the pack talent hence the most disappointing schools are SMU and North Texas.

Where does it say they rank them higher than OU. they took a select few....very few....coaches and asked them their opinions on things. Hell some of them were not even the head coaches, but recruiting coordinators.

OU has been and will be fine in Texas. The last couple of years, the positions OU has been after to fill, the talent in Texas has not been there.

2015 is going to be a monster year for OU in Texas.

To me, it means, what teams do the coaches feel are the hot teams.

Only 3 teams, OSU, Baylor, and TCU, are teams that could be misunderstood as "hot" teams. Even though neither have done much with who they get!
