Very impressive to not be down at half after that wild 18-4 run early by the Cyclones. Very proud of the way they fought back, and I love the way we're fighting on the boards. We haven't given up a single offensive rebound, and we've got 7 of our own. I'm optimistic about the 2nd half.

The weakness of this year's team is that they play to the level of their competition. Iowa State is a really good team, but we should be able to beat them (even on the road). Still an overall solid effort, but this was the most "winnable" of our remaining big road games.

The good news is that OSU lost, and KU got manhandled in Austin. So, things kinda remain the same in the conference standings. For us anyway.

We fell behind Texas, though. That showdown in Norman is getting more and more meaningful by the game. There's little chance I miss that one, and hopefully it's a legitimate sell out like the game against OSU.

It's hard to get too upset over a hard fought loss in Ames. The one thing that does bother me about this team is the defensive lapses. Failing to pick up the man bringing the ball up the floor shouldn't happen once, much less 3 or 4 times.

Oh well. I do like the way this team fights away from home. We took a lot of punches and kept coming back. It took a career day from their big man to beat us.

lol, they frustrate the heck out of me...the do the Charlie Brown syndrome, make a run, get close...then drop the ball on simple things. But I totally agree, fun to watch. It's really amazing with LK as coach that our D isn't very solid....he has his roots in defense.
