People of Earth:

I need some assistance in finding the largest possible "cabin style" tent for about $350.00 or less. The bigger the better, and ideally it would have multiple rooms.

Mucho Gracias.

Not military. They're a pain in the *** to setup, and they don't have floors. I'm looking for the most comfortable experience possible.

This is my old tent: https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/4875_95050008483_6491034_n.jpg
Something along those lines although, ideally, it'd be at least 12x12. I need enough room for a queen sized bed, some shelving, a desk, a love seat, and all of my gear.

D-Day. I require a LOT of space in order to be comfortable since I'm out there for a week. I liked that Coleman, but it was stolen by the ethnics in Vicksburg when I was drying it out on the lawn. I then got a Coleman Instant which was easier to setup, but it wasn't big enough.

Again, I need/want a lot of space.

I don't camp -- I glamp.

I like the size and form factor of this tent: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Large-Tunnel-Tent-20-Person-10-Room-Spacious-Family-Camping-Hiking-Outdoor-Hunt-/191048460831

However, it's outside of my price range, doesn't have a floor, and it's a bit too utilitarian for my tastes. It also doesn't have an AC port.

This is the top contender at the moment:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-16-x-16-Cabin-Dome-Tent-Sleeps-12/20531614

It would allow me to have a 'gear room', bedroom, and office for my desk and entertainment area.

Be sure and read the reviews. I always start with the worst ones, the 1-stars, to see why those people didn't like it and go from there.

You're *this* close to getting pimp slapped.

I forgot about your D-day activity. For a moment, I thought you were being forced to live in a tent in someone's backyard. THAT would have been a little funny...and a little sad.

By avoiding hard physical work, roughing it in the wild, and going out into the sunlight.

Stay in a hotel. You get all that and running water.
I like being with my unit. It's a lot more fun that way. Besides, Wyandotte is overrun with quality inns.

He has to have room for his butler and personal Chef.
The unit has its own chef/cook, so she can stay at home on these trips.

His REAL Mommy. Not sure if she wants anymore Kids to baby.
She definitely doesn't.

Nein -- my mother was never a school teacher. She worked for Merrill Lynch before becoming a 'stay at home' mom.

Your Walmart tent has very poor reviews.
Just get an RV and be done with it.

The reviews on this one aren't bad:

I've thought about renting an RV in the past, but the RV section is separated from my unit's designated area and I like being with my unit. Besides, we drink a LOT and I don't want to stumble all the way back to the RV section in the pitch black while drunk. Out.

Do yourself a favor and look at the Trekker 20 x 16 tent at Cabelas. They are on sale for 299.00.
I saw that one earlier. I like it a lot. I wish there were better pics of the interior though.

I changed my post.

My big family tent from Cabelas looks like it is discontinued. We really like it and had no problems. The problem with a lot of family tents is they do not hold up in a storm. I have seen colemans come apart. The Cabelas outfitter tents are well made but expensive.

Diver, what brand hammock and underquilt do you have?

Sicem, Wenzel seems to have a lot tent options in your range.

An example...

Hammock is a Clark NX 250
Hammock insulation: Clark baffles
Under quilt: Jacks are Better MT Washington
Sleeping bag: Western Mountaineering 0 degree
plus two army wool blankets, Hennessey hammock heat reflector and reebock activity mat. It was cold.

If my wife cost it out I am a dead man.

Not firm enough for me as far as back support. I use a cot that I like quite a bit.

That giant Coleman tent did pretty well in storms. One year, I think '09 or so, we had two storms blow thorugh during the week each with 60+mph wind gusts along with a torrential down pour. It held up admirably considering the rain was blowing between the rain fly and the top of the tent. I had some minor water buildup in one corner and a couple of lines snapped, but aside from that it held up fine.

I always cut all of the lines off my tent now and replace them with jute twine.

Now THAT is a hammock. This goes onto the top of the list for the next piece of gear to get! I really like that it's good down to around 32 out of the box too.

I just dropped the coin on a Hilleberg Nallo 2 tent and footprint. So it's going to be a bit.

I think it is good to 32 with the baffles/insulation. I was in it at 40 and it was a little chilli without the baffles.

Hilleberg makes great tents. I rode out a pretty serious storm in one. Years ago I had a Bibler, a single wall, bomb proof shelter. My two tents I use now are a Big Agnes and a tent from a company called Tarp Tent. I also have a cubin fiber tarp for ultra light weight camping.

If I decide on a bush craft weekend I have a German Army Flecktarn poncho shelter half that I use or a plain ole tarp.
