And what did Stoops say about not using lack of respect/underdog status/chip on the shoulder to motivate?

"They don't know about us."
"They goin to know about us."
"They think we're dumb."

Barry must be beaming.

That's all it took? Some bad music and coaching cliches written at the end?

Hell, when I was in HS, we used to get stoked to Led Zep and Def Leppard's "Hysteria"... I'm sure if we had the ability to make videos like that back then, they'd look pretty horrible to older folks at the time too. Except Led Zep, because that was 20 years old even back then.

I like Lecrae, and Tedashii has some good songs, but that was kind of a weird song to pick. At least they didn't pick somebody like Lil Wayne or Young Jeezy.

Meh... I liked the highlights of the season, but the "music" (and I use that term loosely these days...) isn't my thing. However, my 16-18 yr old nephews love it.

Now, set that to "Welcome to the Jungle," and I'll be ready to go kick me some Crimson Tide azz! :)

Cheers

Sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks were the laying down the background tracks on that video.

I think the players had to overcome this production in order to win. What a performance!

....good gravy, really? Some people would complain about anything

....of course you didn't get it, didn't like the music, ridiculed the production....guess what? It's not for you and wasn't meant for you. But that's okay, none of you ever played in a BCS Bowl game and your a bunch of old farts on the outside looking in :stung:

All you "meh"ers--I think I see a pattern. You aren't the target audience. Looks to me like they absolutely nailed it. Did anyone have a teen/early 20s boy who said, "Man, that sucked"?

Hell, when I was in HS, we used to get stoked to Led Zep ...........

........which is incredibly easy to get stoke with being that they are the most incredible rock band in the history of the universe and all!

Zeppelin Rules!

no, really.

We figured it out! Next year we're making our predominantly African-American football team of teenage to early-twenty year olds listen to Led Zep. We'll beat Alabama by 4 touchdowns next year!

For goodness sake, whatever you do, don't let it be "Dazed and Confused"! :)

Heh. I had a walkman cassette player, and I had a "pre game" tape I would listen to...it started with about three Zep songs, included some Def Leppard and finished with AC/DC. Heck, I could still get motivated by that tape.

I don't think it would have mattered what they played. Christian hiphop is the dry hump of music anyway.

Quit it in about 30 seconds. Realized Stoops told'em to imagine Bama was whoever was making this noise. Victory!

Went to a dinner outing for a friend's birthday and met Brannon Greene's grandparents. They are very nice people and his grandfather was decked out in Sugar Bowl gear from head to toe. Still a little New Orleans giddy and very proud.

Some of you geezers are showing your age.

Playing for different crowds in my dj business I hear all of it, classical to classic rock, country to hip hop.

Some of it is not my taste in music but so what?

A good dj plays to the crowd and in this case the crowd was a roomful 18 to 22 year old kids about to take the field in front of 80,000 screaming fans and a national television audience.

My question is who puts these together?

okay...getting ready to view the vid in question for the 1st time...I'm mentally prepping myself for a culture shock...but I'm also telling myself the ends justified the means.

Edited to add: So that inspired victory? huh...seemed foreign, perhaps even alien. But then I'm a 50 yr old white male. The visual part was fine. The music sounds as if it would induce brain damage.

I'd be willing to bet that most, if not all, of those who let the song get in their way of liking the video were considerably older than the audience it was intended for.

I think that the video and music were played before the game and the players were told that if they lost, they would have to listen to it on the bus and plane back to Norman.
