Yeah but is he as big and fast as Alabama?

Please add in the subject title "Rivals #1 ranked RB in Nation 5*"He was the top running back still uncommitted. The kid ranked higher is from louisiana and committed to LSU. But hey, Joe is a 5* = *****.Our first one in this class.

Who knows, he MIGHT be the best. We'll give him a tryout to make the OU starting team.

Next year's RB's will include Mixon, Perrine, Ford and Ross. Maybe we can get Henry to transfer from Bamer?!?!?

A lot of people speculated that he was a Sooner for awhile. He is a big time AD fan.

Thank God he didn't do the stupid, "pick one hat up, put it down and pick another," crap. That's low class, IMHO. The kids might not understand it, but their parents should and tell them to show some respect. The only exception would be psyching out a team that grayshirts.

This is a good time to advertise that we do have a recruiting board (here (http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?4-Recruiting)). If you're interested, pop over and check out some of the other guys OU is looking to bring in to this class.

Looks good! Hopefully he has a good head on his shoulders as well. I like how he said the Sugar Bowl win helped w/ his decision.

And that was a smart thing to say about the Sugar Bowl whether it really swayed him or not. The really good players will actively help recruit the remaining schollies if they can.

Hell I'm still busy being excited about Ford. Now I get to be excited about this dude as well.
Nice.

Just about every D1 school in the country, as far as I can tell.

Excuse me. Who was our coach that recruited him?

Cale Gundy. When he announced his decision he thanked both Stoops and Gundy.

I can't complain the way Cale Gundy handles the running backs. He is often overlooked as coaches, but he is excellent in recruiting and teaching them! OU is lucky to still have him! I hope Gundy stays for a very long time, and is rewarded to stay.

We really haven't had a weakness at running back ever under Cale. We've had a few big recruits not pan out, but I wonder if that was more about splitting time with better guys than bad recruiting

Not to downgrade anyone else, but I can see a long and happy cooperation between Mixon and Knight that involves the two of them running to the corner with the option to keep, pitch to Mixon or fake keep and them loft a little toss over the corner man's head to a six yard or so downfield Mixon...or to the two WR's who sucked the DBs downfield....said DB's now roaring back in 'run support mode'. You could create about six options across four potential ballcarriers for a max of four guys to cover.

Stud on the field and seems like a good kid to boot! Glad he didn't do the hat switcheroo crap as has been mentioned.

As I recall, DM did the hat switcheroo and it didn't seem to hurt his popularity.

Not very many kids have done that this year. I don't think it's trendy anymore. The Williams kid's announcement seemed strange, like he wanted to do something. He had the OU hat in front, if I remember correctly, and his family was all wearing red. Only to chose UCLA. Anyone else catch this?

Trendy is probably the key word. Trends change quickly and these 18yo are very good a keeping pace with them. It's a huge moment in these players' lives and it doesn't bother me if they want to go through a little ritual. It will be an insignificant tidbit when Spring ball rolls around.

Doesn't mean that I didn't like it.
