Ugly game. Hopefully we just end up with more points at the end and move on to the next game.

I wouldn't have expected for all 5 starters to have 3 or more turnovers, Clark to have 4 points, Buddy to have 6, and for us to have a 16 point lead. Not even against a weak mid-major. Just a weird game.

Ugly first half offensively, but I feel like we've gotten over a small hump. This team came out to start the season playing really well, then when Hornbeak went down, it seemed like out play kind of sagged. Starting the second half to tonight's game, it felt like we get back to our previous form.

This was a rough ugly game, but it was good to see the team work through a night they were struggling to score the ball and still be able to pull it out. So far they are right were we thought they would be 6 games ago. After the La.Tech game it gets rough for a bit and they might need to grind a few out. Next five will be Texas, Kansas, Iowa State, Kansas State & Baylor. I'm optimistic if we don't have a shooting night like tonight we can pull three of those five.

This was an important win. To come out with a W in one of these melees where shots aren't falling and the offense is out of sync will really help the team down the line. Getting Hornbeak back will help too. They are missing his minutes per game.

The LaTech game could be a little bit of a challenge, but we should be able to win and finish our non-con schedule at 12-1.

We definitely get a big challenge right out of the gate in conference play, but then again, the conference is really, really good this year (RPI #1). If we can manage to grab 3 wins over the first 5 conference games, that would be awesome. It'll be tough though, since 3 are on the road, and the two home games are KU and ISU. Still, I really like this team, and I think they can play with anyone in the conference. We just can't afford any more ugly games if we want to make a real run that the conference title/get a really good seed for the tourney.

Agree with all of this. The A&M game was a big one for a few reasons. Quality opponent, we won a game we should have, and maybe more importantly, we played through a rough start. I also agree with your thoughts regarding Hornbeak. I didn't give him enough credit when I first heard he went down. He does make a difference, and it'll be good to get him back.
