Looks like it's only being broadcast on SoonerSports. I'm going to try to keep up with the broadcast, so if anyone wants to chat about the game, here's the thread.

Could be somewhat interesting. This team only has 4 wins, but played Texas really, really close (L 72-69). Still, we should beat this team going away, but you never know...

Most of their offense is coming from one guy (Dowell). Unless he can score 70, the Sooners should pull away. Still, this is a scrappy team, and like I said in the original post, they played Texas close.

OU living a defense optional lifestyle.

Gotta get offline for awhile. So, I probably won't post anymore updates. Maybe SoonerorLater can take over?

If I remember this is essentially a repeat of last years game. We get out to a lead and have to hold on at the last to win. Hey, it was a win though.

I really thought we were looking at overtime with that final shot.

I didn't get to watch the entire game (lots of pre-holiday home chores arg) but I had it on in several rooms between laundry runs. I still love this team and its future, both later this season and the next few years. They seem to be well coached and now have several games' experience with closing out close games.

However, pretty much every game has involved getting an early lead, only for opponents to close and sometimes surpass the gap. Does not bode well for Big 12 or postseason play.

What is wrong with OU's defense? They seem to be giving up a lot of points. Granted they are scoring in bunches, but they seem to give up a lot of layups.

Again, I didn't see the entire game, but our opponents seem to be shooting lights out against us from three-range, which allows fast turnarounds and comebacks. Adding to the issue is that players inherently want to quiet quick runs, opposing crowds, opponent celebrating, etc. quickly, so how to do you respond to a three hot streak? Try to hit your own threes. Bonk! So, instead of answering three-runs with slow-tempo, an easy two or drawing fouls, we respond to threes with missed threes. :(

I still love this team. I can't wait to take baby baj to see them all grown up in a few years :)

They were unconcious from three point range but they were getting a lot pretty good looks also.
Woodard did not have a good game. Maybe it was the extra minutes since Hornbeak
was out but he just looked lethargic. Add to that Cousins didn't have much of a game either and
this one went down to the wire.

Woodard did not have a good game.

An ouhoops poster said he had a stomach bug. I agree that he looked sickly near the end, especially those missed free throws, but look at his stat line:

12 assists, 1 turnover, 7 pts, 3 rebounds in 36 minutes

12 to 1 assist-to-turnover ratio?! Someone bug his stomach! :D

Youth.

They play a very aggressive style of defense, which can result in lots of wide open shots from the opposition. It didn't hurt that UTA had a (former Cowboy) go off last night, but they're definitely in a defensive rut at the moment.

Close games like this one will help the maturity of this team, and could pay off later in the year. I just hate them.

I always liked Reger. Too bad that he wouldn't listen to Ford at all as I thought he could've been a decent PG for us.
