What do you think his fate will be. If he's gone, who replaces him?

I think he stays. Maybe I just hope he does.

Publicly resigns, but really gets fired.

I hope he gets 10 more years... he WAS "just playing for the Big XII Title" after all. ;)

Well, so were the LosuRS...

Anyway, as I was saying... I hope he gets extended. I believe he'll get fired, however.

He doesn't get fired. Only way he's gone after this season is if he resigns.

Red McCombs said in the Houston paper this week that he think Mack stays, Joe Jamail is Mack's attorney. Those are the two biggest donors who control the athletic department. With kind of a new AD I think Mack is safe until after next season since they ended this season on an upward trend compared to the early part of the season.

He will resign.
He SHOULD be fired for not responding to Jameis Winston's desire to be a 'horn.

He will be forced to resign although they will give him full honors like he retired on his own and give him a $1M job in the athletic dept, I'm sure fund raising with all the good 'ol boy alums.

For as long of a contract that he has (2020) and yearly salary the buyout is not much.
Dallas Morning News - See Mack Brown's buyout figures at Texas through 2020 (http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/college-sports/texas-longhorns/20121016-see-mack-brown-s-buyout-figures-at-texas-through-2020.ece)

ABC's Darren Rovell tweeted out the figures Monday, which call for Brown to earn a $3.5 million buyout if he's fired on or before Dec. 31 of this year, which would be paid in installments of $700 thousand over five years. But the buyout number drops to $2.75 million on Jan.1, 2013, and then down to $2.25 million on the first day of 2015.

As Rovell also points out, Brown's contract, which was extended through the 2020 season earlier in the year, could be worth as much as $43 million over the next nine seasons. By figure, the $3.5 million buyout seems surprisingly low.
