Gee...

What an experience. A trip to Stillwater to see my wife's Baylor Bears clinch the conference championship and maybe a shot at a BCS bowl.

Okay, it wasn't in the cards. Not in the least.

One thing I noticed, from my seat in section 332, row 27, seat 38, was the scoreboards.

Like there really weren't any. Just these really tiny little things, smaller than the one we had in Capitol Hill stadium in the early 70's when my high skool alma mater played there. But at least they were digital and not made of an array of so many line-voltage floodlights. And the one in the east end zone was messed up, showing just a funny little part of a character in the "down" indicator, making it look like for example, instead of 4th down it's "#" down.

But before I even found either of the scoreboards, especially the west one, I sure didn't miss out on who owns the place. Giant sized letters, at least twice the size of the scoreboard, and directly above it.

"BOONE PICKENS STADIUM"

Obviously even more important than the outcome of the game itself.

Keep it classy, OSU.

I've always enjoyed Stillwater. It's like one big high school beer party.
Just don't wear Crimson, then the inferiority bristles.
