Lost 6 in a row (have to go back to 1979 when that last happened) and they won't go to a bowl game.

The debate is over whether to fire Muschamp before next week's game with Florida State or after.

As a UF alumni, I didn't like the hire from the start. Now, I'll enjoy the firing. Any D1 losing to a 1AA is grounds for immediate dismissal. Totally unacceptable. Gators will lose by 50 to fsu.

Waiting to be fired.

If I were the AD he would be fired before dinner.

Been a long long time that I have seen 0 yards for total game passing

If I were the AD he would be fired before dinner.

The debate is over whether to put him through the humiliation of being fired before the end of the season or to let him go through the humiliation of getting rolled by the Seminoles then experience the humiliation of being fired.

I'm happiest about the fact that the total BS schedule the SEC and the ACC have has bitten them in the arse!

WTF is Alabama doing playing Chattanooga and FSU playing Idaho?

Seemed like he was toast even before this loss. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if he's fired before the night's up.

FSU played Idaho because West Virginia got out of their scheduled games with them by joining the Big 12.

Bill King on Rivals/Sirius/XM radio seems to think Mudchump was good for another year. That was before this ultra bad loss, though. Bill King knows more football and recruiting that all OK sportscasters combined. And I like Berry Tramel.

Muschamp will definitely be back next yr but he will be forced to make major staff changes--next season he will have at least one new coordinator(OC Brent Pease will definitely be fired) , maybe two --though really their D has not really been that bad. Southern ran for over 300 yds on us(Bama) two yrs ago when we beat them in Tuscaloosa, it's very hard to prepare for and they tend to give everyone fits with their wishbone O.

Yup. He's really beefed up his resume for being the ut coach. Perfect fit.

SEC teams all tend to play a patsy late in the season. Makes sense actually, as it is effectively a bye week

They also start conference play earlier than most of the other conferences so it does leave a non-conference game late in season. There probably aren't that many decent teams playing out of conference that late in the season.

Not that Florida is any good, but this serves them right for their pitiful scheduling. They tried to schedule a cupcake late in the year (as all SEC teams do), and it bit them in the ***. If you have one week to prepare for a good option team, you're asking for trouble.

Doesn't seem like that long ago Florida fans were on top of the world...whoops.

Seeing both Michigan and Florida this year makes me appreciate the roller coaster of a season that OU is having even more.

It is meltdown city with Michigan fans up here, and Sparty is just taunting them with such glee.

Which is perfectly fine, until I remind both fan bases that their teams will curl up in a fetal position against the Ohio State Penitentary Football Team.

This is bound to be an incredibly unpopular bit of news in Gainesville.

The only thing I can think is that Foley is too close to Muschamp, and just can't see the forest for the trees. Florida isn't getting any better under his leadership, they're clearly getting worse. It would suck to be a Gator fan right now.

Or Foley unlike the fan base understands how much it would cost for him to cut Muschamp loose now, or he's willing to buy in to the excessive injuries thing.

Could be. I honestly don't know much about UF this year. I know they've had some injury problems, but who hasn't? I would tend to agree that Foley is willing to wait out next year in order to avoid a buyout.

Their QB situation is so bad they had to burn Morninwheg's red shirt. That's really all that needs to be said about their injuries.

OUinFLA
11/27/2013, 07:51 PM
they had 11 starters out with injuries this year

qbs were a question mark anyway, none of the recruited qbs fit into Muschamps offensive philosophy. so, what does a good coach do? he tries to change their talents to fit his scheme. The two qbs I am familier with are spread option qbs out of high school.

I think, but heck, Im just a farmer from Oklahoma repeating what my gator fan fishing partner talks about incessantly.

edit: to be truthful, he hasn't had much to say this week.

as a side note, knowing the total hatred uf and fsu have for each other, we may see the first 100 point scoring achievement in fsu's history this weekend.

fsu does stil remember being ahead of uf by 32 at the start of the 4th a few years ago and then losing the game

Im sure their philosophy this next game will be to pile on all the points they are capable of. Zero mercy.
