Two Oklahoma offensive senior starters—running back Damien Williams and wide receiver Lacoltan Bester-- will miss Saturday’s contest with Kansas State after being suspended for unspecified violation of team rules. Williams, who was also suspended for the Sooners’ home win over Tulsa earlier in the season, has rushed for 553 yards and seven touchdowns on 114 carries. Bester has hauled in 20 passes for 279 yards and one touchdown this year. These losses are a blow to a Sooner squad who will be without starting quarterback Blake Bell, who suffered a concussion in the second quarter against Iowa State. Redshirt freshman Trevor Knight, who started the first two games of the season, will start in his place . After taking over for Bell against ISU, Knight completed 8-of-14 passes for 61 yards while also racking up 123 yards on 10 rushes and a touchdown in a 48-10 win. The news was first reported by Oklahoma City’s KOCO News. - - - Want to join the conversation?
