Wow.. I'm impressed with some of these offenses, but the defense is not good.

Does that sound like a description of the Big XII the past couple of years?? Not this year though...

These sec offenses are much more physical and balanced.

I dunno. I thought SEC was supposed to be all about defense but twice as many points were scored in that Auburn/Aggie game as in our game.

I'm never happy to see a player get hurt but I did love seeing Manziel sacked.

These SEC shootouts are starting to look like the 1990's WAC games.

I know y'all are joking but again, it's still a much more physical brand of football. Maybe the targeting rule has had an affect on the defenses?

WTF is a "much more physical brand of football"? What objective evidence is there this year that proves that out??

I think that the much improved QB play in the SEC has resulted in more offense, and more points. I was impressed with the guy from Auburn too..

I'll take Oregon this year. Speed and a true dual threat QB that can do it all...

In the meantime, we've yet to face a quality QB this year and we still have no defense

You were comparing the current SEC (which like it or not has had a lock on the NC) to the Big xii. I still see balanced, run first offenses that utilize tight ends.

I was starting to wonder if sec was too dumb to control aggie like the big 12 has since '98

Now...can they control Missouri? I mean, c'mon sec. Missouri can't win in football. At least... Not in the big 12, 8 or 6...o r. Whatev

Aren't they still playing with their Big 12 recruits? ;)

Georgia is still underrated. Their 3 losses are quality! ;)

Been saying for a few weeks now that the SEC is in a down year. And congrats to Mizzou ... love to see them win the SEC (since my aggies certainly ain't).

As an OU fan living in the Atlanta area for 12 years I'll use every opportunity to take a shot at the sec. But until we have a new "defending" or "reigning" champion, the sec has scoreboard on the rest of college football.

The past few years yeah. This year Bama is the only elite SEC team (thus far) and they play a terrible ooc schedule. The only other undefeated SEC team is essentially a big 12 team. LSU is about to lose to Ole Miss. Well then again I just saw they are now actually tied with ole miss... but still...

Agree that bamas terrible ooc schedule essentially insures it a trip to the sec championship. Does Missouri stand a chance?

They'll drop two spots to 17. LSU will still be top 10 after their loss to ole miss since it was a tough game on the road against a bitter SEC rival.

for all of SEC fan macho posturing about physical brand of football the spread started just as much in the SEC as the Arena League. Spurrier at UF, Mumme at Kentucky.

that's what the high school game has become....
