"Tragic" situation for AD

The source declined to share any further details, explaining that it’s a subject Peterson will address at the appropriate time.

On Thursday, Stu Whitney of the Argus (S.D.)Leader reported that Peterson remains in Sioux Falls (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/10/peterson-remains-in-south-dakota-for-very-serious-family-medical-issue/), “dealing with [a] medical issue (https://twitter.com/stuwhitney/status/388411549158608896) involving [a] young family member that likely will be a police matter” and that it is a “very serious (https://twitter.com/stuwhitney/status/388382626832072704)” health situation.

No further details are currently available. Adrian Peterson's 2-year-old son is currently in critical condition in a South Dakota hospital ... after he was allegedly severely beaten by the man dating the mother of his child, TMZ has learned.

The Minnesota Vikings running back immediately left his team to be with his son.

Officials tell us they've arrested the suspect, 27-year-old Joseph Patterson ... who's been charged with aggravated felony assault and battery of an infant.

According to law enforcement, emergency responders arrived to the apartment where Peterson's son was living at 5:46 PM on Wednesday ... and found the child unresponsive.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital and medical experts determined the injuries were consistent with abuse.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... the child suffered severe head injuries.

It sounds like the boyfriend has been accused in the past of beating her too, from what TMZ said earlier.

I agree that AD needs to file for custody to ensure that beatin' boyfriend gets no gravy train off baby mama child support payments. Seeing all of those happy photos of AD with his other son AD Jr -- that is what this boy deserves, not this imposter dad

My thoughts go to AD. It is hard to imagine losing a child so violently. I'm sure it's gone thru his mind continuously as he gets mental images of the atrocity against his child.
The very thought that this sort of thing happens all over and way too often causes me to replay how I've treated my son for all of his 6 yrs on this earth. I have nothing but love and protection on my mind and to consider hurting him in any way leads me to believe I am not privileged to exist. You're right, I haven't.

Using my imagination, if in some alternative universe where males and females both gave birth, I found out I was the parent of a child I didn't previously know about, and then that child was brutally murdered not long after, I'd be devastated.

Whether I knew him or not, I would be devastated that this part of myself that I could have had the opportunity to nurture, support, love, make smile, parent into becoming an exceptional adult was snuffed out for no reason. I would be so devastated I couldn't possibly go to work. I couldn't possibly even get out of bed.

Then again I'm female so apparently if I were a male, I wouldn't be too broken up in this situation. (Sorry, Vet, I lied, that was a claw at you. Are you SERIOUS? Just because you didn't know your own child well you wouldn't be too broken up about him being beaten to death? Tell me I misunderstood you.)

All that being said, I also recognize that people grieve in different ways. So if going back to his usual routine helps AD grieve, who am I to judge? The outrage I felt when I made this post (the post quoted above, I mean) has worn off. Now I just feel sad.

F-4s. At the very end, he was assigned to the retraining program for POWs to get them back in the air ASAP should the need arise. When they retired the F-4s he switched to the F-15 and did some work for the Pentagon. He retired in the late 80's.

Great guy -- I think the world of him. He was a debater at OU before going into the military. The crazy thing about him though was that he got lost EVERYWHERE he went. He'd even get lost when we had tournaments at OU....and he went to OU! I asked him one time how on Earth he flew fighter jets with his sense of direction and he said, "It's easy to make up lost time when you're going Mach 2." :D
