I am still astounded our brilliant politicians haven't faxilitated the conversion of our energy use to matural gas. The short-sightedmess of these idiots is breathtaking.

Sorry to hear about your friends.

Thanks....they knew it was coming but you are never quite prepared for it.

We should have been converting to NG 5 years ago but energy independence isn't really a mission for our government. Dems are the worst but pubs could have been better about it too.

Exxon doesn't want to see oil displaced in transporation by NG...that's in their best interests but not the country's.

Uhm Okie, XOM is basically a gas company now...

They have heavy positions on NG and LNG. Just announced site for new Alaska LNG plant.

Frankly, agree with you all NG/LNG is the bridge fuel to the future.

yeah. They purchased xto a few years ago but they are satisfied to use their ng for power plants, business and residential. Their current distribution on transportation would be disturbed by the ng switch as would US consumption of their oil.

Long term contracts for best money. Without a NG/LNG infrastructure, the fuel doesn't make $ sense to them. Someone will see it and make a killing. XOM is like IBM, wait for new technology to shake out and then enter the market.

Aubrey and tboone dedicated a billion dollars to develop distribution points on the west coast primarily for heavy trucking....no help from Obama who was still dedicating distribution points for ethanol.

Have to have ng distribution points before building / buying ng cars makes much sense. It would be in the best long interests of the country if we did it.

Agreed.

The Leftist doesn't like it as it doesn't pander to the green and it isn't sexy. But in many ways, NG/LNG is better, more clean and accessible by today's distribution system to be an ideal fuel.

You know what the difference between ethanol and natural gas is? Corn is for FOOD. Natural gas is for ENERGY.

Oh wait, I mean to say that ethanol is produced in Iowa, which is where the first presidential primary/causus/WTF is, whereas natural gas is in not as important primary state Oklahoma.

You all ever see that "your state is good at this" map? Oklahoma's was that we were the leader in alternative energy vehicles. CNG hooray hooray.

Thoughts and prayers to all who lost their Chesapeake jobs, Oklahoma and otherwise. Hope all land on their feet
