**** the "Red River Rivalry," it's much better known as the "Red River Shootout"

Here are all of Stoops' RRS victories. I would like you to vote on your favorite(s).

Due to ongoing complaints about not being able to vote for more than one, you can actually vote for more than one (or none, if that's how you roll).

3 days of anonymous voting.

'02 was very interesting because it looked like the horns had us in the 1st half. The coaches called a great drive to score right before half and then Griffin went caveman on their arses in the 2nd. Great to get the horn fans hopes up and then crush them.

'04 was very surprising. We had a defense with issues and yet we put a goose egg on them. The coming out party for AD was awesome.

Of course all the beat downs were fun, but I'll leave those for others to vote on :)

I voted for all of them. :)

Your nominees:

Year 2000: OU started its "Red October" with one the largest (at the time) margin of victory in RRS history, causing David Boren to call a "snow day" Monday.

2001 Superman: With victory far from certain, Texas trailed late in the game with what could have been a game winning drive. After questionably fair-catching a Sooner punt inside the 5, Roy Williams caused Chrissy to choke once again.

Q saves the day in 2002: Trailing at halftime, Quentin Griffin helped OU score 24 unanswered points. Said Stoops afterward, "I think he really likes to play Texas."

2003: Most lopsided victory ever in RRS history. There's not much else to say, but a picture says a 1000 words:

2004 introduces AD: Adrian is a much better person than the rest of us, vowing to not do "horns down." However, 2004 answered the question of how things could possibly get worse for UT after last year, by causing whorn to get shutout for the first time since 1980.

Intro to Sam 2007: Tied at halftime, Sammie threw for 244 yards on 21 of 32 passing. Sadly due to injuries, this was his first, last and only RRS victory.

2010 fumble panic: Don't vote for this year (see photo). At least we won. But victory was very much in doubt in the fourth quarter after that play.

2011: Lewis wears Austin Box's jersey with the gold hat. This game was so lopsided that Kirk was talking about his involvement with "Peggy" in a credit card commercial and they were showing Bevo sitting bored away from the field in the second half. Did you know "Peggy" was a high school math teacher, not an actor? I wonder if Travis ever let anyone else wear the hat after the game?

2012: "Ahhhh! ****!" The most amazing part of this was not that we covered a 3-point spread, but the images (and GIFs) the constant whorn mistakes produced. Blake Bell had 4 (FIRST HALF!) touchdowns. Think he can top that this year?

This is a no brainer for me. After years of suffering, the 2000 63-14 beat down was beautifully magnificent...

2000 was awesome. It was rainy, cold and somewhat windy that day, but Q scoring again and again kept us all warm. It was also nice to put Major Applewhite in his place before he was benched in favor of Chris Simms.

None of my crewbroyght warm clothing in 2000.
We bought ponchos and blankets at the game.
Us youngins and old timers alike were in awe of the beatdown.
The best part is when Simms came in and threw a pick 6 to Calmus.

those two stick out to me as well. the come from behind win in 2002 was awesome. you knew we had them when they took a knee at the half

holding VY to 0 points was pretty insane in 2004. their only loss that year.

putting 50-60 points on them just isn't that impressive anymore :D

2000

My first RRS game ever. Bought trash bags off a state fair worker for a dollar a piece to make "ponchos"

Awesome experience!

You all are so damn predictable. If I held a debate here, it would be over in two seconds, because everyone agrees on everything :P

I voted for 2000 because it was so unexpected and lead to such a remarkable season. I should have also voted for 2003 because it proved that 2000 wasn't a fluke - although many Texas fans were expecting a beatdown that year.

I voted "2000" with my head, but in my heart it will always be "the next one."

Everyone remembers Roy from 2001, and for good reason. But what stood out more to me about that game was the poise of Jason to come in for Nate and absolutely take over that game.

What stands out most to me is the average score of Stoops' wins 40-15, so I chose all of them!!

I was curious about f' bomb girl and found this. Interesting read. Apparently her parents are proud.

It's not even close.
After years of listening to OU games on the radio because they weren't televised, and usually turning it off at the half, it's 2000.
Big B lifts us from shame, and everything that came after was just icing on the cake.

OU is filled with these type of girls too -- ones that watch football with interest. Must be a south thing :)
