we got our "scare" in the fifth game this year. In 2000, it was the seventh game
ATM 35-31 and then OSWho 12-7 in the 9th game. I'm thinking that with this
wake up this early, the results that we got in 2000 might, just might be on the
horizon for 2013.

Now, excuse me while I clean my crimson colored glasses....

In 2000 we had no major injuries to starters. We just lost our team leader on defense. So that's a pretty major difference.

What's this WE crap. You are a Baylor fan. You go to hell with Ann Richards.

The 2000 team was all slathered up in Sooner Magic. As some have mentioned, no key injuries. Every close and often questionable call went in the Sooners favor. After Nebraska scored 14 quick points and looked to be on a roll the coaches found the fix to shut them back down.

This was not a scare. We never trailed in the game, and was in control from start to finished. I guarantee you we will get a real scare this year.

After 5 weeks,, we lookin pretty good. I'm just gonna roll with this team, like I did with the 2000 team, see where we end up.

Our secondary got lit up by Kansas going into the RRS in 2000.
We don't have the LB play that team had.
Amongst other things. I'm still enjoying!

the difference between the 2000 team, and ever team since (including this year), is that 2000 was a complete shock to our systems. we simply weren't expecting it... we hoped for it, but we never expected it.

since the final second against fsu, we have grown to expect perfection. imo, we no longer hope for success... at least on the same level as the 2000 season. none of us expected 63 against the horns, or a win against a very good ksu team away, or the comeback we saw against nebraska to see #1 again. we sure as hell didn't expect to shut out fsu (2 points doesn't count).

maybe hope these days has taken on a different context - more of a "lord, i hope we don't **** this up" (giving full credit to alan shepherd for the (paraphrased) quote).

there is a change in attitude with this team - glimmers of 2001 with reference to the defense. we still have issues on offense, but i believe we're moving in the right direction.

Due to the media and polls being in love with the SEC this team won't face a "murderer's row" like the 2000 team did.

True, but few teams have done what the Sooners did during Red October.

Tech and Baylor could be highly ranked in a few weeks, and hopefully OU takes care of business against Texas and Kansas before those games.

In 2000 we had "Big Game Bob". He hasn't been around for a few years.

So true! If only that recent game at Notre Dame was big.

The defense is playing with fire and a chip on their shoulder. Haven't seen that in a while.
This team is playing well in tight games. They will be battle tested. I love what I have seen so far.

That's because he hung on to bad luck Venables too long.
