Did you know that in 1975, OU completed a total of 24 passes for the entire season.... Tinker Owens had 12 receptions and Billy Brooks had 5 to lead the team... both players, however, earned All-America honors for their performances - as blockers on the option, pass catchers and decoys on offense... Brooks scored one of OU's two touchdowns in its national title-clinching 14-6 Orange Bowl victory over Michigan to end that season

...I still have my no.11 Tinker Owens jersey...can barely get it over my head now though. I remember the days when a down field pass was 'exotic'...good times! Billy and Tinker were studs!

Nice! He was a good friend of my sisters when she was a freshman. He used to hang out in her Walker Tower dorm room, and everybody loved him. Wish that I could be there to meet him.

The 1970's are great memories if your a Sooner fan. It was our decade (i.e., more wins than anyone else).
