Geeze they held on every play. Where were those refs from?

Level playing field. If we didn't counter by holding, we missed an opportunity.

holding is not a penalty in south bend or on nbc.

Everyone does it and it's legal as long as the hands are in the armpits.

Come on guys...Christal is waiting on the holds until he Texas game!

That said, both teams held quite a bit. There were a few that were quite obvious, but it wasn't like the refs had much impact on the game at all.

For the first time, I thought Christal's crew called a fair game and allowed the teams to decide the game.

I was impressed actually!

Nope!

OL is forbidden to grab any part of the defender. Doesn't matter where it is.

However, a lot if times they will get away with it as long as their hands stay within the frame of their body.

It's not for real. Holding isn't legal at all. Officials will overlook it If the OL hands stay within their frame and the OL doesn't create an advantage by holding.

The officiating overall was much better than I expected. I was fairly impressed myself...

It's over. It's done. Time to move on to TCU.

Let's just say that you don't have to look too hard at almost any play in any game to find holding. It's all about what the ref's will allow on any given day. As long as they are consistent I don't care. And I thought they were very consistent yesterday.

It's only holding if and only if we're naked after the play is over..just saying

Not true. It will not be called unless the O guy's arms are outside the shoulders. You need to watch more ball.

Yeah, it seems the practical reality is that if your hands get on the backside of the defender THEN you might get the holding call.
