OU/TX - Don't buy tickets from Horns for more than face... [Archive]

Lots of horns are starting to show up on our boards, ebay, and craiglist trying to unload their Red River Rivalry tickets. The majority of them are asking face value, but some are trying to make a buck of course. I would suggest we scoop up all of their tickets and pack the Cotton Bowl with Crimson. I do however, think you should wait until after Saturday to buy, as I expect those asking more than face to come down after an ugly game or a loss vs K-State! One of my buddies got 4 on the Texas side for $400, which is less than face. If you've ever thought about going but didn't want to pay ourtrageous amounts for ticket, this is the year to do it! Boomer!

Agree... wait till Texas loses another game or two to see if they'll pay you to take the ticket. :mack:

Bout the same or less. If they would have DESTROYED kstate they would have probably stopped free falling like Tom Petty. Lol!

The diehards among the orange bloods will (after they beat Iowa State) think they have turned the corner and probably won't sell while the merely disillusioned will lobby for more than face based on them having a winning record going into the game.

Now if the cyclones manage to beat them . . .

Click on the link to sell tickets at stubhub. Just make up any section, and seat number. Once you get to the next page, you'd be able to view actual selling prices from any section after clicking on the map on the right. One poor whorn fan ended up paying $388 each for tickets in section 117 back in August.

Last week a coworker offered me his pair in Sec 9 for $250 and I said no thanks... He came back Friday and said he'd take $200. I again said no thanks. Today he came in and asked if I knew ANY fan... Horn or Sooner, that would want to go for $100! CRAZY!!!

that is pretty sad for this series....

Students are enterprising young beer-money-seeking folk. If the price they charge them is less than they can resell them for, then go ahead and offer em to the real adults.

You will be surrounded by Sooners regardless of what side you sit on... or are you worried that you will be sitting next to Sooner azzholes? If so, I understand. It probably goes something like this: "Ya I'm wearin' white and not crimson, cuz I PAID FOR MY TICKET SO I CAN WEAR WHAT I WANT!" "Ya, I'm yelling on Sooner offense and being quiet on defense, cuz I PAID FOR MY TICKET SO I CAN YELL WHEN I WANT!"

No I was referring to the longhorn azzholes. I would have my kids with me and I don't want to hear UT fans talking sh!t if I was to sit on their side. Don't wanna subject my kids to that. UT fans get upset when they are getting their azz handed to them.

They also arrive late and leave early, so I think you and your family will be safe... but just to be sure, might be a good idea to bring at least a second adult in your sitting area :)

From looking at their various boards and ours the past two weeks, and seeing the CRAZY amounts of Sooner fans scooping up their tickets for face (and less), I really don't think you'll have a problem sitting over there. I would guess that at least 1/3 or half of their half is going to be OU fans this year. Plus if it helps, the last two years they've all bailed at halftime anyway. Hook em
