Nick Saban replacing Mack Brown at Texas (http://www.soonerfans.com/collegefootball/teams/page/TEXAS/texas-longhorns)? Well, there are at least two regents at Texas who have considered the idea.
According to the Associated Press (http://collegefootball.ap.org/article/apnewsbreak-texas-regent-talked-sabans-agent), a current and former Texas regent contacted Nick Saban's agent, Jimmy Sexton, in January to ask about the possibility of Saban replacing Brown.
A couple days later the former regent, Tom Hicks, talked to Mack Brown about retiring, which Brown obviously said he did not want to do. The current regent, Wallace Hall, told the AP that he spoke with Sexton by phone a few days after Alabama (http://www.soonerfans.com/collegefootball/teams/page/BAMA/alabama-crimson-tide) beat Notre Dame in the BCS championship game.
The AP reports that it's unclear who initiated the meeting, and Saban's agent "did not return a call seeking comment."
And to think, this all took place before Texas got off to a 1-2 start to the season with losses to BYU and Ole Miss. You can only imagine what's going to happen should the Longhorns continue to struggle.
I'm guessing it will involve a lot of "Saban to Texas" rumors whether they're valid or not.

Most 'sane' Texas fans don't even believe Saban is happenin'...

Outside of money, why would Saban want to go to Texas?

Yeah, the recruiting is there, but he has his pick already nationally.

He is at a program steeped in greater tradition.

He would be a fool to take a step down the ladder.

Just another delusional idea from Texas fans.

Saban hates the "basketball on grass" version of football. No way he comes to the Big XII even though there are a few more teams doing it in the SEC now.

Meh. Let him come. He can be beaten.

This story was just on the local six o'clock news.

Nay say all you want, but if Saban doesn't accept an offer from sa*et, it won't be cause they didn't ask.

Face it people, the whorns really do suck and unless Mack either learns to coach or walk on water and I mean as of this weekend, he will not survive past the end of the regular season.

This means the orange bloods are going to open the bank vault and hire the biggest name on the marquee that'll agree to their terms, whatever those may be.

They have the money to afford anybody. Only question is who will take the job and the associated baggage?

That too would surprise me.

Gruden seems to like beaches, and Asstin doesn't have any beaches!

Not since Lake Travis is down...still only a three hour drive to Port A and about the same to Galveston (depending upon Houston traffic).

The telling thing in that article is that UT's largest donor (Joe Jamail) is Mack's attorney. That is one reason why he ain't going anywhere until Joe and Red say so.
