Are these online articles or in print?

By the way, I asked four Cowboy fans today about this today.

Three said they didn't care since the statute (two actually said "statue") of limitations was over.

The other said he didn't care because it got them where they are today.

So screw 'em.

What many fail to understand is that though there is a 4 year statute of limitations, there is also a willful violators clause that allows the NCAA to go back as far as needed.

Why worry about their wrestling team? OU is about to pass them in that sport either this coming season or next!

That new coach put a hell of a first class together! And this years class wasn't too shabby either!

Is there a statute of limitations for making allegations?

Yes. Allegations generally are based on violations that have occurred four or fewer years before the time an institution is notified of an investigation or an institution notifies the enforcement staff of violations. However, the enforcement staff may allege violations that have occurred beyond the four-year period if they involve (1) the eligibility of a current student-athlete, (2) a pattern of willful violations that began before the four-year window but continue into the four-year window or (3) a blatant disregard for certain fundamental rules (recruiting, extra benefits, academics, ethical conduct) or (4) an effort to conceal violations.

It's unfortunate for OSU that so many of its former players, staffers and coaches would say bad things about their alma mater/ex-employer.

Granted some of them, let's call them the "boo blake" category, would not be that credible. However, if they quoted those that were in good standing and have little reason to be bitter about the way they left the university, the allegations will be taken more seriously.

I would say if allegations are true, then OSU displayed a blatant disregard for certain fundamental rules and made an effort to conceal the violations.

Therefore the NCAA can still investigate.

Daddy Boone's Lawyer: "Hello, NCAA? Yeah, about that little investigation you've got going on? Yeah, that one. Have y'all been watching the news? The forest fires out West? Yeah. Those red wood trees, you see 'em? We're going to be chopping 'em all down and pulping them into paper just print out the opening motions we plan on filing if you go ahead with that. Mmmm, hmmmm. Thought you'd come to see things our way. Y'all have a nice day now. Buh bye."

Very interesting quotes for Mike Holder, the OSU ath dir today. (http://www.tulsaworld.com/article.aspx/OSU_AD_Holder_on_SI_allegations_I_know_enough_to_b e/20130909_93_0_SILAEk138898?subj=298)

An excerpt:

“My message was, ‘You’re not going to like what you hear; it’s going to be a rough few days, but our hope is you might not be proud of what’s being said about you but we hope to make you proud about how we dealt with it and how we stood up, didn’t make any excuses.'

“We’re not going to try to cover anything up. I’m the guy in charge and ultimately the buck stops at my door. I’m willing to accept responsibility for whatever is being said.”

Good chance, Pickens net worth, according to Forbes, is $1.4 Billion.
I doubt many schools would spend that to defend themselves. Pickens
prolly would...:friendly_wink:

“This goes well beyond the NCAA rules and any consequences,” OSU athletic director Mike Holder said. “You've got to take a hard look at yourself in the mirror.”

Holder says he tells his employees on a regular basis, “Our only job is to serve our student-athletes. That's what we're here for. We're here to make their dreams come true.

Another good Holder quote! Guess those Orange Pride girls did make some of those players dreams come true!

The that bothers me is that the last time them Neon Orange Bastids caught thet got Hart Lee Dykes to lie and drag us down with them.I just hope TBP doesn'tstart passing out cash to aggys willing to perjure themselves to once again pull us down qith them.

Honestly even though I believe major violations occurred and should be punished BUT Johnny Football skated even though everyone not wearing Agg maroon knew he was and is guilty.

I think that an investigation won't amount to anything though. The statute of limitations for infractions is four years.

After the Little Johnny fiasco, and the NCAA's other failures to act, why would anyone think this is a big deal? Frankly at this point anyone that isn't cheating and telling the NCAA to go screw themselves isn't trying hard enough to win.

Someone has to pay for Johnny's crimes. OSU would make a nice whipping boy.

• Part 5: The Fallout (On SI.com Tuesday, 9/17, and in the 9/23/13 SI issue): SI finds that many players who were no longer useful to the football program were cast aside, returning to worlds they had hoped to escape. Some have been incarcerated, others live on the streets, many have battled drug abuse and a few have attempted suicide.

Good lord.

One of the sites has this going through 2011 so it is also current. Have to wonder if the QB that Gundy tried to stop from transferring where he wanted to go with the IL Father who is a lawyer has talked. Did Dez Bryant talk? Scumbag program if you ask me to just toss people aside.

• Part 4: Sex (On SI.com Friday, 9/13): OSU’s hostess program, Orange Pride, figured so prominently in the recruitment of prospects that the group more than tripled in size under Miles. Both Miles and Gundy took the unusual step of personally interviewing candidates. Multiple former players and Orange Pride members say that a small subset of the group had sex with recruits, a violation of NCAA rules. It does make you wonder how far this ""personal interview went. Did they tell these girls during these personal interviews that they were looking for a few girls that have a "morally casual attitude" to escort recruits?
Barney up at CU got canned for something similar, although if I remember right, this wasn't just escort female students but paid prostitutes.

Oh, this is funny
Bell and a teammate arrived at the booster's house and were told that their "job" was to fish for catfish in a pond on the property. "And we got to keep all the fish we caught," says Bell, who says he was paid "a couple hundred dollars" to sit and fish.
