He's been that way for 4 years now. Either they're always young or they have the wrong coordinators. How many coordinators does a HC get to go through in 5 years before the powers that be start blaming the guy at the top? Not that I'm complaining. I hope Mack coaches them for the rest of his life.

but,but,but they are Texas,they return 19 starters,Ash is much improved,the defense is tougher and more physical. Given that theier HC is still Mack Brown,I never understood why ANYONE thought UT would be better.

Hard to imagine what the heck is going on down there. They must have simply recruited via the internet; never met some of the players, but went on their Rivals stars, and expected everything to come together somehow.

Your argument is logical, but not sound. I know people that repeated 8th grade... doesn't necessarily mean that the second time through they're going to be any better at 8th grade - especially if they have the same teacher who happens to be a moron.

Greg Robinson was the architect of those great Michigan defenses from 08-10....... I'm sure Texas will soar to new heights under him.

I was hoping for 1 more crack at Diaz - our offense could use a dose of confidence.

Texas does have an awfully good volleyball team. National Champions last year if I'm not mistaken.

I have to confess I have enjoy the LHs the last few years. Not one to enjoy peoples grief but this has been great. I'll tell you I NEVER thought it would go on for this long. Lets us beat Tulsa or we will be in the craper too.

There is no luckier man on the face of the planet than Greg Robinson. After Texas had referees steal the KU game for them in 2004, Vince went to Mack and told him he couldn't run the offense. Mack gave Vince the green light to pull the ball down and run right...which helped them run the table for the rest of 2004.
Syracuse mistakenly took the late-2004 success of the 'Horns to be defensive genius from Robinson. They hired him and he was a complete and utter failure. Snake oil salesman Rich Rodriguez, who doesn't know defense from shinola, then inexplicably hired him at Michigan after the Syracuse debacle.
To no intelligent observer's surprise, the Robinson hire did nothing to stem the suck begun by Rodriguez at Michigan...and both were cut loose.
It's difficult to believe that with all the money Texas has, they settled for grab bag garbage like Harsin and Diaz in the first place. Now that Texas have been run to death by a bunch of white Mormons, they return to their biblical vomit - Greg Robinson.
And, I love watching the implosion! So, so, so entertaining, the circus down in Austin.

I don't know what he's done at Arkie State, but at least Harsin saw the writing on the wall with Applesauce and bailed. The Miss. State fans gush about what Diaz did with their D at Mississippi Aggie. Diaz should've bailed immediately when Mack brought Robinson to look over his shoulder.
I did read on some whorn board fwiw, that Robinson supposedly presented Mack with an advisory D game-plan where they should put 8 in the box and make BYU beat them with the pass, and Manny ran a 4-2-5, instead.
I mean, for crying out loud, Mack is the head coach, if he thought that 8 in the box was the way for their D to go, then you would think he would have the juice to make his DC follow it.

It is interesting and entertaining watching Diaz' career being sidelined by the car wreck that is sa*et, but really, his firing is frustration over events that stretch back for 3 seasons. And now Robinson, who was at least partly responsible for the death spirals of Syracuse and Michigan, is handed the reins as if he knows all about how to stop a runaway stagecoach. Sure, his suggested alignment might have worked better than the one Diaz ran, but from what I read, whorn players were all over the field, out of position and yelling at each other in frustration during that game. The problem is much more than one game. They have not been coached well for some time. They are sa*et and they are lousy. Get used to it.

It doesn't matter who made them. He's the idiot who had the team wear them in spite of knowing the rule about contrasting colors for visiting schools!
The only reason Harsin ever went anywhere is that Boise State accidentally beat us in overtime of a bowl game that our team half-heartedly played. Texas was stupid enough to buy into his hype...and, he saw, firsthand, what OU looks like when they give a crap. Arkansas State has now been fooled into hiring him...and are now getting to see what kind of idiot he is.
But, look even deeper. Boise State (WAC) to Texas (Big 12) to Arkansas State (Sun Belt). This guy will be like Hal Mumme in a few years, coaching a Division III school before being given a pity assistant job at some pointless program like SMU.
