Let's not get carried away. We were massively helped by WVU's ineptitude on offense. Lots of errant throws and dropped passes. We didn't play bad but, from my view, it was far from "phenominal".

The team clearly responded with added intensity when Bell came in. Was the reluctance to throw because we were running clock or didn't trust Bell to pass any better than Knight? It will be interesting to see how the coaches handle it. I wouldn't be surprised if Knight retains the job or they give it to Bell, either way. From what I've seen, I trust Bell more in a hostile stadium.

We can't take anything about our QB situation from what happened tonight. Apparently Knight has done more in practice to get the start. Bell did nothing tonight (or more appropriately, was not allowed to do anything tonight) to make a huge case for starting. I don't have any idea what's going to happen. But in any case, I don't like being in this kind of a QB situation. This is the kind of crap we've been making fun of Texas for for a few years now.

Clearly, I am lowering my expectations a few notches. I agree that our defense was helped by their ineptitude. All of our Qb's are better than what they have. Although their receivers were pretty crappy as well. I just don't think the 3-yard and a cloud of dust offense will get us through the schedule.

I don't see how the coaches can justify not giving Bell a shot to see what he can do against TU. Knight's just too green. He may have some great skills, but he's not ready yet. Then if Bell doesn't cut it--man, I guess you go all out for Thompson. All I know is, *someone* has to throw that ball competently, and right now Knight isn't capable, at least on Saturday (whatever else he may be doing in practice).
