WVU is more balanced than we're giving them credit for, and Holgorsen is a very good offensive coach. I think they'll bring their running game. Key is to get them into third and long (only converted 2 of 10 against W & M), and they've got a couple of backs who are studs. Offensive line play will be the key. If we can keep a rush going like we had and the backers and secondary play as well as they can, it will be a good test.

Our offense against their D will be a test as well. They played the run against W & M pretty well, giving up only 100 yards or so on the ground. Damage done to them was via the airways, so we've got to pass better than last week, and hopefully our run game will be better.

I'm seeing this as something of a defensive struggle unless we can really uncork our offense, and I think that's going to take another week...plus with Mad Scientist Jr. at the helm of the Mountaineers, look out.

If WVU had played someone like Maryland, then I would be right there with you. But they struggled to beat a bad FCS team. William & Mary went 2-9 last year, and it took everything WVU had to win that game.

Holding a good rushing team to under 100 yards would be impressive, but W&M isn't a good rushing team (they're not a good anything team).

WVU is bad. Maybe worse than KU.

You cannot gauge what WVU off what they did or didn't do against William and Mary.

If WVU wasn't very vanilla against them, then WVU is in for a long day! If they were, then we just don't know.

That said, being vanilla doesn't mean your OL is sucking it up against a very mediocre to bad DL. It doesn't mean that your WR aren't very good. Nor does it mean your QB has a weak arm with no wheels whatsoever.

Maybe the play calling for WVU was vanilla. But their execution was anything but vanilla. It was lack of experience.

Well, to be fair, I expected us to blowout KSU last year.

Interesting take on Tulsa. I thought Tulsa would be a tougher test than WVU before the season...how things have changes in a couple of short weeks.

I think OU is likely to have more than one close game this season, but everything I'm seeing suggests they have a reasonable expectation to win every one of them. Fully expecting Sooners to have a really good year.
