Despite being a extremely hot day, especially for four year old, a good time was had by all. Saw the drumline and band before the game and even got to meet a cheerleader.

Made it most of the 1st quarter untill we retreated underneath. Got some food and headed to the West side. Seats opened up at halftime with my parents and he really perked up in the shade. Had a blast and was a real treat to have three generations enjoying our favorite pastime together. He slept the whole way home but the next morning said his favorite part was that OU won...and the popcorn.

Thanks again to Vet for the ticket:

Spent a lot of time on the shoulders. When asked if he wanted down, he would say "No thanks, I'm conserving my energy."

Gym friend of my father has a daughter who is a freshman cheerleader. I've never seen him so shy. Sent this pic to my brother and he responded, "I'm taking him to his next game"

Walked down the ramp and took his picture with the ponies. Had no idea you could just walk down there.

So Sooner parents... when is a good age for the first Sooner game to attend and is there a good time of fall/kickoff time to attend?

For me it depends on what you want to get out of it. we waited until 4 so he understood what he was going to do. He was so excited. I think last year he would have not made it very long attention span wise. Once he was comfortable with the temp he was good.

It's good to see someone raising their kid right!!!! I consider it child abuse when I see them dressed in orange.

If you ask him what color we root for, he says "Red!" and what color do we not like, he says "Orange!"

He has actually asked me if it's ok to wear his orange batman shirt. Brought a tear to my eye ;)

I took my oldest son to the 2007 Utah State game when he was four. After OU scored their second touchdown, we had to leave. The fireworks from the scoreboard terrified him. I had no idea he'd react that way.

I started taking my son last year when he was 6. He's a lot more into it when his 10 yr old sister doesn't go. She spends most of her time asking for a drink, a hotdog, etc...

I once saw a little girl with a pink Nintendo DS playing Pokemon during an OU game. To her defense, it was North Texas and were crushing them

If I had money to burn, I'd love to just take her for a quarter, then leave and watch the rest from an A/C place. Maybe when the stadium gets redesigned, they can designate some cheap standing-room-only spots for the poors and parents that know they'll have to leave early
