The Kingsberry era kicks off tonight as Tech travels to SMU to play the Ponies. Sounds like Tech is going to start a walk on freshman at QB while SMU will have former Horn QB Gilbert starting. Seem mixed thoughts on this one ... could be a good game and first look at a future opponent. Any predictions?

Tech will win the game, but it's going to be close.

Tech is starting a walk-on true freshman tonight. Think about that. The walk on, true freshman was better than every QB they had on campus?! I think that's a sign of how things will be for the Raiders this year. I think GQ Klingbury will make that program better, but it's not going to be this year.

I'm thinking something like:

Tech - 34
SMU - 31

Here's the difference between the SEC and the Big 12. Since SEC fans are so ghey for each other, they will always root for their "own" in all games.
I don't.
Screw Tech. I'm still mad at them for stealing games in their house and breaking our win streak in ours.

Michael Brewer was the Tech starter before a back injury during practice. Brewer was the QB who followed Garrett Gilbert at Lake Travis HS.

Div. I-AA North Dakota State leads K-State in Manhattan 7-0 in the second quarter.

Tech has a Freshman Coach and a Freshman QB. its 6-6 almost to the 1/2

I had forgotten that Brewer had a back issue. That makes it a little better for Tech (if he can come back from that), otherwise, I don't think they'll fare to well in conference play.

Snyder, while being a great coach, caught lightning in a bottle last year. This year, not so much. I can easily see KSU finishing 8th in the conference.

I take that to mean that you will be pulling for LSU against TCU tomorrow night?

I'm not going to look it up, but I don't know that in the BCS era a conference (co) Champion has ever opened the season with a loss the next year...let alone to an FCS school. I know ND State is a good team, but they're still an FCS team!

2 time fcs national champs. Watched it and they killed 9 minutes on the clock in the 4th. 34 seconds and the qb takes it in for TD. Was really good.

They won 2 back to back champs last 2 years. Really good team. I was impressed.

Tech looked good though ... nice win for them. Didn't see much of either ... was at a high school game ... but saw the 9 minute drive by the bisons ... just big play after big play. Surprised a Snyder defense would give up a drive like that.

The QB was really good every blitz he dumped it off to the FB or TE.

I thought Tech looked "blah" the first half, but came out the second half and looked much better. Definitely settled down the second half and the QB looked solid.

Given the two teams involved, I thought the Tech/SMU game was pretty boring.

Needed the suspended tight end to get into the game. That was the difference.
