I heard a rumor up here in Topeka that a KU juco lineman left KU and is now on the Sooner campus. Has anyone heard this?

There is nothing posted on cjonline.com which is the Topeka Capitol-Journal. They usually stay on top of stuff like that.

There is also nothing posted in the Lawrence newspaper either.

But then considering what day it is today, they may still be in mourning (i.e., the 150th anniversary of Quantrill's raid).

pretty much their entire last class were JUCOs so that doesn't really narrow it down

If anyone from KU can come in and contribute we're in worse shape than I think :D

A lot of 3 and 4 star JUCO guys, who can contribute sooner (usually) than 3 and 4 star HS guys. http://rivals.yahoo.com/oklahoma/football/recruiting/commitments/2013/kansas-20

That's been floating around for a few days, and at least as of a few days ago, the guy wasn't here, anyway. He might not be there, but he wasn't here.

Does anyone even have a name? KU's been talent-poor lately, so I assume they have multiple jucos on all lines

To the Internet!

Slater update — Pearce Slater, a junior-college offensive lineman, continues to be missing from practice. After being a late arrival to fall camp, Slater returned home to California last weekend to deal with what KU officials deemed as a “family medical emergency.” On Wednesday, a KU official said Weis would have an update on Slater’s status when he meets reporters Friday.

Also, several days ago on The Oklahoman (http://newsok.com/sources-junior-college-offensive-tackle-pearce-slater-not-at-oklahoma/article/3873499) - just reporting internet rumors, but also noting that he's still on KU's online roster (http://www.kuathletics.com/roster.aspx?path=football&).

Pearce Slater. That's not a lineman's name. That's an investment banker's name.

Slater signed an LOI per rivals, so he wouldn't be going anywhere http://rivals.yahoo.com/oklahoma/football/recruiting/commitments/2014/kansas-20

This.

It was being "reported" by some online "insiders", but after a different journalist checked into the situation, it was deemed false. Apparently, the player in question was listed as a student at OU, but nobody in the FB office knew anything about him.

If he's in Norman, it's as a student only.

Forget about KU linemen, have them send some basketball players, that's all they really have in Lawrence and Coach Kruger needs the help.

Heywood Jablome.

Nah, he is trying to decide between SUC or an SEC team. Valley girls or cash from an aTm? Difficult choice . . . ;)

He is enrolled at KU. So he cant come to OU and participate in football this year.

Wonder why he was showing up as an OU student? I suppose it could have been a person with the same name, but that's not exactly a common name.

Wondering the same thing at rivals.

But he has been enrolled at KU so he won't be part of the OU football team anytime soon.

The Sooners taking KU cast offs? That is a truly chilling thought!
