So now that Headington Hall is now open to OU athletes, what happens to Gomer Jones, Bud Wilkinson and Washington House Athletic Dorms?

Well I hope they are not firing off machine guns and raping the janitors

I doubt that they'll doze all of them, they'd be well served by a facelift and turning them into loft style dorms with a great location. Of course, it may be cheaper to doze and rebuild.

I would guess a parking lot or , hopefully, a parking garage.

Seems like I read an article within the last few months that said the Bud House may be saved and the other two facilities would be razed. Don't think there were any comments about what would happen to it though.

Edit: I guess it was a couple of years ago!

So as an old fogey who lived in the dorms prior to the great and glorious NCAA rule that there be no athletic dorms, does the 51% on the non-sports student partake in the fine establishment and amenities meant for the "student-athletes"? Like the mess/training table, the fun game rooms and the fully furnished computer rooms?

I thought I had heard that they would tear all three of them down and build in their place the best strength training facility in the country. Our current facility at 13,000 sf is becoming rather average. The pukes have a 20,000 sf facility by comparison. I think Bama has 30,000 sf.

Sheesh, you'd need a golf cart to get to your next routine!

The size of the training facility has just about nothing to do with its effectiveness.

Unless you have to wait to use a particular machine or squat rack.

So recruits are just as impressed with a 3,000 sf facility as they are a 20,000 sf facility?

Joe C said the other night that the Bud would likely be turned into admin offices. :indecisiveness:
