We're just about a month away from the start of the season, and there have been plenty of announced changes across the country. However, there are still quite a few changes that will be announced closer to the start, and some that won't be announced until the week of the game. So, just like year's past, this will be an ever-changing list. This year, I'm going to do it a little different from previous editions. I am going to go through every conference (not including every mid-major, only the one's with changes) and address each team's uni changes. Hope you enjoy!

Rather than using space to show every image (which requires numerous posts), I'll put hyper-links where appropriate.

Big XII

Baylor
Lot's of changes for the Bears. Most notably is the addition of a shiny new gold helmet (http://www.cbssports.com/images/collegefootball/baylorgoldhelmet.jpg). The Bears will also be wearing a new matte black helmet (http://helmetgame.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Baylor-matte-black-football-helmet-687x576.jpg) in 2013. In addition to new helmets, Baylor has made some changes to their jerseys and pants. You can see several of the combos here (http://cdn.nikeblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/New-Baylor-Football-Uniforms-622x295.jpg).

Iowa State
Throw Back announced (see further down in this thread)

Kansas
In the past month, Kansas has announced several changes to their uniforms, the most discussed is the new helmets (http://media.kansascity.com/smedia/2013/07/01/16/26/f7i6O.St.81.jpeg). The Jayhawks will have a total of 5 new helmets for 2013 (Red, Dark Blue, White, Powder Blue throwback and matte Black). In addition to the helmets, KU has announced there will be uniforms to match every helmet, however, no images have been released at this time.

Kansas State
No changes announced

Oklahoma State
No major changes to their brand new set, however, the rumor continues to swirl about a new matte orange helmet (http://www.pistolsfiringblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Screen-Shot-2012-01-28-at-5.46.43-PM.png) (that is an image from last year, but you can see the matte orange helmet).

Oklahoma
No changes announced

TCU
I can't keep up with the various TCU uniform combinations, and here is an image of four TCU helmets to be used in 2013 (http://gamedayr.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/TCU-horned-frogs-2013-helmets-570x427.jpg). I can't tell, but it doesn't appear any new helmets have been added. See "new" uni set (with new helmet) further down in this thread.

Texas
Not a huge change for the Horns, but new home (https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BOsjnbZCEAIlRRV.jpg:large) and away (https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BOvoZFOCYAE2Iuz.jpg:large) jerseys. The only real difference is the location of the Longhorn logo (and the type of material Nike now uses).

Texas Tech
In the never ending effort to make Lubbock attractice to 18 year old recruits, Tech has announced that there will be changes to the 2013 Red Raider uniforms. The most discussed change is with the helmet. This image (http://cdn2.sbnation.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/8642915/ttu_helmets.0_standard_709.0.jpg) has been floated around the internet, and it was confirmed that Tech will used "several" of those helmets in 2013. That image includes NINE different helmet designs. In addition, the school released this image (http://gamedayr.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/texas-tech-red-raiders-uniforms-2013.jpg) of new uniforms (and helmets) for 2013.

West Virginia
The Mountaineers will play their second season in the Big XII with three new uniforms. Gone are the grey uniform and helmet for 2013. WVU will have an all blue set, an all white set and a new all yellow set (http://cdn.nikeblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/New-West-Virginia-Football-Uniforms.jpg). The Mountaineers will have a matte blue, white and yellow helmet to match their new uniform sets. In my opinion, this is a much better look than last year (http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Maryland+v+West+Virginia+hAAmxkxsQX-x.jpg).

That's it for the Big XII. Next up will be the PAC 12.

I'm glad Stoops is traditional. I do like the throw back uni's even though they kinda look Huskerish...

I'm working on the next installment, but had to break protocol so that I could present to you a nominee of this year's worst uniforms. Ladies and gentlemen, Miami of Ohio:

Thanks for doing this. Love uniform update info, even if the end result is hideously ugly.

Good times for helmet sales reps.

How ridiculous. Next thing you know, OSU will have a Los Vaqueros uni, ala the NBA.

Thanks for the info--it is fun to laugh at these.

I definitely wouldn't want us to do the "100 combinations" thing, but I wouldn't mind adding a throwback uniform/combination to use every once in a while. Judging by the B12 players poll in the Oklahoman the other day, players like more options and combinations. OU was ranked way down the list as most liked unis. Of course most fans, especially older fans, don't want change, but it could bring in more recruits.

I would love to see something like this:

I like the Taco Tech helmets with the Red Raider on them...except for that red version with the horse stretched out underneath him

Time for OU to catch up and have some alternate unis. We don't need fifteen different changes but 2 or 3 would be nice. Also for the old timers, when I think back about championships I don't look to see what uniforms they were wearing. C'mon Bob lets do this and may help with recruits as well ;)

Another away uniform with numbers that will be hard to read from a distance.

New TCU helmet unveiled this afternoon. Can anyone tell me what's up with the red stripe?

They did a smaller red stripe a few years ago. Basically, a horned frog spits blood from its eyes when it feels threatened

i used to be a total no changes ever. i like the flat enamel crimson of the old helmets before the 00 sparkle bass boat change, the thin white double stripes over the blockier double stripe of the same year.

at this point i've been beaten into ambivalence. maybe it's a good thing. i could see some really cool updated Sooner threads i guess.

it's all driven by marketing so that i feel uneasy about....but, there no purchase (as it were) it trying to fight that battle.

now that ATM's maroon is out of our conference life, i'd like to see the crimson go a shade darker. looks a little too "cherry red" to me sometimes. not that i'm paying attention or anything. :cocksure:

I've finally opened up to the idea of a different uniform (or tweak). However, I think it must be done with tradition in mind, so maybe something similar to the all white throwbacks (not the same uni, but along the same line of thinking). At this point, that seems to be one of the carrots to dangle in front of recruits, and it appears that a large portion of the fan-base would be excited as well.

Thanks for the thread, 8time. I wish KU would get rid of that goofy-looking blue bird. I wonder if WVU would be allowed to wear the yellow on the road? Tex looks okay, as far as puke orange goes.

Wouldn't all these helmets be tremendously expensive? Over-the-top expensive?

As for OU, I'd be okay with throwback unis of the mid-80s. Those large-mesh jerseys had a menacing, business-like look to them. Helped that guys like Kevin Murphy and Dante Jones were putting dents in opponents back then...

Somebody on Lt's posted an awesome OU retro. Raged I think. That OU throwback was badace.

A few years ago, OKLAST declared that black was the new orange. Apparently, they have reversed back to orange:

http://sports.cbsimg.net/u/photos/football/college/img23528504.jpg

In Saturday's giving UTSA 28 fourth quarter points affair, the ensemble included orange helmets (with orange OSU decal), orange numbers, orange pants....ugh. reminds me of what the cleveland browns tried to go to a few years ago :stunned:

btw, thank you Pokes for giving us something funny to listen to on the road en route to Norman. yanking the starters, then putting them back in when UTSA brought it within 21? lol
